voting for a president is about more than picking Team Red or Team Blue. If Obama doesn't win the Democratic Nomination and McCain proves to be a legitimate presidential candidate (which I don't feel he's done yet, but its still early), I will be voting for McCain in the fall. I may not agree with all his positions, but I feel he has the character and integrity to lead the country.

Not sure what the point is of signing petitions though. Democrat primary voters should decide for themselves what candidate they think is best, not look at who might appeal the most to other people. No need to game the game, just play it right.

Obama or Nader. Never ever for Hillary.

Will look at the candidates afresh once the Democratic nominee has been decided. Having said that, if Hillary wins it I'd be more inclined toward her if Obama was her VP. On the other hand, if Obama wins, having Hillary as his VP would not incline me any more toward voting for him than I already am, which is strongly. Obviously, McCain is not my current favorite, but I do not dislike the man, even though I oppose his views on certain issues. Still, his choice of VP will hold sway. If he panders to the Conservative Right, I'm a lot less likely to consider casting my vote for him.

Whether I will vote for Clinton in the (unlikely) event that she gets the nomination depends mostly on how she got it.

If she wins fairly, then I'll grit my teeth and choke her down. If she wins through tricks like seating the Michigan delegation (from an election where she was the only major candidate on the ballot)... then I'll have to think about it.

I'll vote for Hillary IF she gets the nomination. I do not want another 1,000 years in Iraq or a bomb, bomb, bomb dropped on Iran or no universal healthcare from a McCain president.

However, I'll drive people to the polls for Obama and donate to his campaign. I don't think I will do the same for Hillary.

I never heard John McCain say that Hillary Clinton was better qualified than any of his rival candidates. If he had said that, his candidacy would have been over in a heartbeat.

So how does Hillary Clinton get away with saying that McCain is better qualified than Barack Obama? Tolerance for crap like this is why the Democrats have elected two presidents in 40 years.
