There is no greater aspiration on the part of some people than to achieve the status of victim. When you are officially certified as a victim, no one can take it away from you. Kind of like being voted into a Hall of Fame, except you don't have to do anything. You just have to be something.

Yes. It is quite ingenious, really, that people have figured out how to turn our innate human compassion into a weapon. See the state of Israel for example. A whole nation created from (actual) victimization and now above and beyond criticism for the same reason. I'm sure I'll catch hell for this. But it's true.

The original post was quite accurate. Kind of reminds me of the Democrat Party, a whole political party asking to get into our pockets based on their victim-hood.
