The Dream Ticket Meme

So the Dream Ticket meme keeps getting repeated by various Clinton mouthpieces. Not for a moment is Clinton going to entertain being a vice-president under a president Obama. The dream ticket talk is meant to assuage the guilt of any super-delegate who might consider overturning Obama's pledged delegate lead. And of course she wouldn't mind getting votes from Obama "cult followers"whom she and her campaign have reviled and insulted throughout this primary.

Hillary Clinton wants to be president, not vice-president. She has a shot this year, or in 2012. By 2016 she will be as old as John McCain is now, and she figures that it would be too late by then. So she's executing Plan A (getting the nomination this year) as well as Plan B (laying the groundwork for 2012). Her recent comments essentially endorsing the Republican nominee against Barack Obama are not just her way of putting Obama down so she can get the nomination this year. She wants to ensure his defeat if he does get the nomination, so she can get another realistic shot next time around.

What upsets Sen. Clinton the most is that she really considers Obama a newbie who is about to steal her turn. That's really what all this anger and meanness is all about. In her mind, Obama should have respectfully waited his turn and run after she got a shot at the presidency. How dare he try to cut in front of the line! Of course all this is laughably hypocritical coming from someone who used her dynastic priviledge to elbow out Nita Lowey to get in front of the line to the US Senate.

Bill Clinton was a competent and extremely bright president. He managed the economy well, and did a passable job in foreign policy. But with the exception of Karl Rove and Tom Delay, no one has damaged American politics in recent history more than the Clintons.

If Clinton gets the nomination, how about Obama as McCain's running mate? That would sure poke a stick in the eye of the far right!

Of COURSE this is the intention! How can Beam miss it? Everyone knows Obama is young and could run in eight years, whereas this is her last chance. IF I was undecided (or was a superdelegate in need of a rational for supporting her!) this might do the trick. It's a smart move, and I don't think we've heard her "suggest" it for the last time.

Ultimately, I think she'd only choose him as a running mate if she absolutely had to, and there's virtually no chance she'd run with Obama as the head of the ticket.

I would vote for that.

I'd vote for that ticket in a heartbeat over Hillary. But don't hold your breath.
