Ever since China emerged from its Proletarian Cultural Great Revolution it has long been poised for total World domination, and not just through the means of its population, ping-pong, or Pu-pu platters. Conservative estimates indicate that China’s overall economic growth will be marked by a sustained annual increase of 6.8% straight through the year 2050, at which time China will become the largest planetary sovereign economy - even surpassing the economy of the United States by 30%. Suddenly the Chinese are not so cute, and no longer the laughable little lot of epicanthal eye folds working on the railroad.

This is not China’s first foray into the Dark Continent. At the beginning of the 15th century, Chinese explorers ventured into Africa to establish trade-relations, but European Imperialism marginalized the efficacy of these established trading relationships. It would be another five centuries before the Chinese had both the ability and alacrity to practice a form of imperialism which would measure up to the erstwhile idea of European Imperialistic perfection. In the 60’s & 70’s The People’s Republic of China attempted to form solidarity among alienated Africans by exporting its Fortune-Cookie Communism. In the 80’s, China blended Central Planning with a Market Economy ultimately hoping to develop a Socialist Market Economy (which of course is an oxymoronic concept – beyond its just being moronic). It is now The Year of the Rat, and China has long since secured their interests in Africa; currying favor with African Leaders/Dictators by giving them both due diplomatic attention, and all the weaponry they can buy. It is Empire by economics, and this form of Empire is so much more subtle and successful than the antiquated antics by both Bible and sword. This is a condition of Empire through commerce - the condition of pillaging a continent and its indigenous people of the natural resources over which they have domain.

It is time for a Sinophile smackdown, China is not the “key” to Africa’s development and China is not interested in investing in the future of Africa; in fact, Africa needs China like it needs apartheid and AIDS. China is ostensibly operating by the pernicious protocol of keeping the natives happy with Beijing baubles while it plunders Africa of its copper and oil. How does the old saying go? ”Sell a man a cheap, piece of shit, plastic watch and he won’t be able to tell how long you’ve occupied his country and exploited his people.” This is all just Chinese take-out. The question becomes: How much will China take?

So you believe that the west has been such a champion of Africa, and most of all, the "inherently good" USA has been so very kind to Africa!

Are you BRAIN DEAD? Do you call taking so many of Africa's people into slavery for 300 years, slaughtering them in the passage, and once hear, working them to death, beating them, and even forbidding them to learn to read, you think that is all so nice and worthy, and that YOU have some right to "slap down" the Chinese, who had little to do with Africa until recently?

Did it not take a Civil War to free the slaves you all stole from Africa, and then did not the US impose upon these African-Americans a system of Apartied for 100 years that was so brutal it mangled minds as well as bodies.

The cited article has zero to do with America’s involvement in Africa. America’s African atrocities are well documented and wholly disgraceful. And as an anti-tellurian, I can assure you fine human that I never; bartered in the sale of, realized ownership of, or sodomized any slave. I was only sent here recently, and those chains of servitude were forged in life by a former generation, and as such, for former wear. The question for consideration centers on China’s involvement in Africa, and whether or not it is a good thing.

I am all too aware that America is an amalgamation of equal opportunity misanthropes. That is to say, this milk of American human kindness isn’t peculiar to those with a native hue; it also extends to fuzzy little foreigners with epicanthic eye folds – the “yellow peril” led to legislation that excluded the Chinese from the American Dream (for about 60 years), but introduced them to a host of hostilities; Teddy Roosevelt’s project to civilize the Philippines; the Japanese, atom-bombs and internment camps; Korea, Vietnam, Laos and a litany of others. There is probably an Eskimo who has been slighted by America’s Market position on domestic blubber derivatives. It‘s all absurd…sublimely absurd.

There is, of course, an ideological dichotomy of which one should take note; namely, the opposition of ideas that concerns Capitalism and Communism.

Other than that, I have no personal problem with China – my concubine is Chinese.

Well, if you think the Chinese are communist, I have a bridge to sell you. There are 200 MILLION migrant workers in China, and the way they live is not the way any proletarian lives in a socialist state, I assure you.

As for ideology, I hate it. I'm a pragmatist/libertarian social democrat...if it works, and doesn't hurt anyone seriously, its fine with me.

Most problems in the world are caused by judgmental pricks who think they have the ideology of perfection, which they then try to impose by brute force on everyone and everything, a/k/a zealots of the left or the right. Yech.
