I am amazed to see TV pundits and media in general talk about the divisiveness of a protracted primary campaign. They worry that these poor Democrats will be fractured and all the infighting will lead to another Democratic defeat. These are the same people who accuse the political Partes of fixing the contest early and disenfranchising millions of citizens, who are yet to vote.
What is wrong in having an intense competitive primary fight going all the way to the Convention? That is far more exciting than having the nominee decision made eight months before the Convention. That is healthy democracy. If the media does not like it, too bad.
In the present context I do not understand why the Obama people are eager to end the process now. Before March 4th numerous commentators made numerous suggestions to Hillary advising her how to withdraw gracefully. Obama people want to discount Florida and Michigan. What are they afraid of? In olden times the nominee was decided at the Convention. What is wrong with that? It is a good thing that Clinton is hell of a fighter. Why should she end her campaign prematurely? She is becoming stronger and stronger each day. The Super Delegates are supposed to referee a tough contest and guide it prudently. The Obama people have so much money, I will not be surprised if money is used to lure Super Delegates. I heard that pressure s being put on undecided Super Delegates.
If the nominee is uncertain, the Republicans will not be able to mount early attacks against the nominee, as they normally do in each cycle.
