Dickerson - Reporter or Columnist?
by JRo

Is John Dickerson a reporter or a columnist? Tonight was a stunning victory for Senator Clinton and all he can do is try to take her down. His bias has been clear all along - he's in the tank for Obama. So why does Slate have him writing articles and not opinion pieces?

Look at the district maps. She won everywhere but major cities - places where Democrats win anyway. If we're talking about electibility, she's the stronger candidate. She wins in big states, swing states and in rural and exurban districts. She wins with voters who care about healthcare and the economy most - two key issues for the general election.

Party leaders and superdelegates would be foolish to discount this when making their general election calculations.

But let's look at why she's winning. Yes, she pissed off the media by calling them out for their bias, but suddenly they are paying closer attention to Obama - as they should, this guy could be the next president and needs to be vetted. Resko, NAFTA, fear-mongering mailers and radio spots in Ohio long before the 3am tv spot in Texas. And why aren't we questioning the fundraising parties domestic terror group the Weather Underground threw for him? We surely would if Clinton did that or David Duke threw a party for McCain. The emperor's clothes are finally being seen for what they are. Voters are finally realizing that we don't really know this guy.

I hope Obama is everything his campaign says he is, but Americans deserve to know for sure. We need to get to know him better through more national exposure - in the Senate or as Vice President - not as President.

Dickerson is not a reporter or columnist- I believe he is one of the campaign managers for Obama who moonlights for the Slate. Instead of reporting the news he creates and spins the information. I hope the Slate will return to it objective reporting after the elections I miss that.

It is also quite laughable that he said that the Democrats are the party of voting rights. Since they were the party of Jim Crow laws. While it was the Republicans that sent in US troops and came up with ways to get around Jim Crow laws.

Not only that but the history of the Republican party began with President Lincoln. It was established with a key plank of ending slavery. It amazes me how many people I talk to that think it is the other way around and don't believe it.

Look it up for yourself!

1965 Civil Rights act may have been signed by a Democrat President, but he somewhat went against the party which barely supported it by about 50%. It was voted on first, and in Congress there was a higher percentage of Republican support than there was Democrat.

Democrats the part of voting rights. That is the most blatantly dishonest statement!
