How can you not know Snoop was gay?
by Isonomist

Dear god, Plotzberg, she and Bunk even commiserated about needing pussy last season.

This column is officially a joke. Why are these guys being paid for this? They do less research on their topic than Templeton himself.

why that season 4 episode was important

The scene where Bunk busts her is where the weapons charges come from, that Snoop is trying to avoid at Levy's office in the first scene of this week's episode. Wake up guys. The Wire deserves better. And so do your readers, us.

These guys are so weak. I never even read the discussion threads in prior seasons. Now I have to because these Slate guys add nothing.

Yeah, it's supposed to be the blog posts which contain insightful analysis, and the forum comments that are full of BS and off-topic arguments. With this TV Club, it is the exact opposite.

it took me embarrassingly long to realize she was even female. IIRC, it was an interview with/about the actress who portrays here, wherein I was stunned by the use of the word "actress"

Which episode was this in? I know Bunk and Kima talk about this, but when did Bunk and Snoop discuss?

Every week I read a set of blogs abotu the Wire. This one consistently is at the bottom. I only continue to read it out of 1) habit, since I come to Slate daily 2) The comments since I find a lot of insight there and 3) Glee at watching them fail again.

Snoop gay? I'd say she was "A." Asexual. Nothing libidinous in that gal, towards any gender. A big part of her fascination for me is that weird neutrality, about not only her sex but her age. How old is she? 16? 30? All the more interesting that she's a passionless killer.

There's a backstory I'd like to read.

That's hilarious, thanks. It's as good as their blathering about McNulty's "Jim Beam" addiction.

Templeton is looking better by the minute.

matt.woolsey,

In the fourth-season finale, when Kima, Lester, and Bunk pull over Chris and Snoop to search their car for the nail gun, but find instead a handgun in a hidden compartment, Bunk is standing over Chris and Snoop as they sit on the curb. Snoop (I think, though it might have been Chris) mouths off to bunk that he must be loving this, harassing people, whatever, to which Bunk replies, "Actually, I was thinking about some pussy." Snoop nods, "Yeah, me too."

Good call.

She's fascinating.

She mentions on the HBO site that the time they filmed the driveby on a motorbike, that was her first ride ever on one. But every interview she does she comes across as refreshingly humble and surprised by her success.

I hope she socked away all the money she made on this show, because Hollywood is just not ready for the inimitable Ms. Pearson.

sadly, that's the reason I read

It's gotten to be like opening the lid on a hospital tray. You know it's not going to be good, but you can't help wondering how bad they can make it.
I wonder if it's dawned on them yet
by Isonomist
that McNulty's been pretty much sober for the last four episodes.

She also said in the HBO interview about the drive by motorcycle hit that it was the first time she had worn women's clothing since she was a little girl
