Tonight on Lou Dobbs. The story involved Obama's Church Minister giving Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan an award and praising him. It was stated that this story had originally been concealed fearing that it would cause Jewish support for Obama to "dry up completely."

......enough people out there that have not yet figured out it is an election year or have forgotten the same and that all camps are looking for all the dirt they can find, verified or unverified, the closer to E-day (primary or final) the dirt can be tossed out there, the less time there is for people to reseach the validity of the stories and to have a counter spread around in the same way the mud was spread around.
In some ways what this demonstrates is a reliability test of how dependable much of the American public can be with regard to blowing with the wind and believing a lot of what they are told without researching it further.
It is unfortunately why half truths, hand picked truths or out and out lies may hold a higher place in our society than telling the truth, the whole truth and nothing, but the truth.
It should be expected that most or all camps have people working many hours to find even the most minute thing they can stretch into a ruiner for their opposition no matter how indirectly connected to that opposition. Based on this expectation we also be prepared either to research much further all such stories or to take them for what they are, circulations specifically intended to undermine the campaigns of the opposition and for that reason there the story behind the story is left out or stories that may in fact be old, are "saved" for the "appropriate" time to reveal them
We might also consider what such tactics say about those that employ them and if all employ them, how and to what extent.
In some ways our fickleness, gullibility or failure to look further than the surface is perhaps the very means used by those who could count on such to manipulate enough Americans to get just the minimum support needed, if not just a slight bit more to carry out their plans.
Not that we should totally ignore the obvious and expected attempts to smear an opposition candidate, but before we a swayed by them we take the time to look below the surface and the effect such stories are intended by some to have on us.
Be Good!
