Even if you where made of iron or Alnico and where permanently magnetized, you would have to almost make direct contact with the tape medium to get a complete erasure. Anyone who has played around with old tape recorders would know this. The bulk erasers of the past where almost all (except small cassettes) electromagnets in order to be able to get the magnetic field strength to do the job.
