For all you who don't understand why Hillary isn't stepping down:

Even if she wanted to, her supporters wouldn't want her to. I was at a rally this past Sunday in RI. There were over 5000 people cheering her on. She represents something to some people. She represents competence, intelligence, dedication, endurance. She is a woman fighting against the odds. We don't want her to give up.

and she represents something else to other people.....

"We don't want her to give up."

Would those same people at least be happy to have her on the VP ticket?

This is a very important point! (And one that Obama supporters really need to comprehend). But this is why it requires real strength and leadership for someone to stop a campaign for office before it runs out of money and time. Every candidate for Democratic and Republican nomination had many thousands or millions of supporters who were disappointed by their decision to drop out. But it was the right thing to do. And it's the right act of leadership in her case, as well.
