Hillary asking not to be first

Don't you see what is happening here? She is given the difficult task of setting up the solution to a difficult problem, and Obama only has to say -- "I agree." He has continually copied her because he has no idea beyond "Hope." He's getting by with it --- just like in most corporations. A woman does the hard research and comes up with the ideas, and the smiling guys steal the ideas and call her a bitch. It's the oldest story in existance. Immediately after the debate, the MSNBC boys were at it again - saying she had a tamtrum.

They're using all the tricks! Carol Summers

She DID have a tantrum.

That's why they said she had a tantrum.

When they say "she's losing", that isn't bias - that is FACT.

When they say "people generally WANT the first question", that is because people ALWAYS want the first question... It makes the person fielding the question look like a leader while the other person look like a follower.

Dispite her tantrum, Hillary took the first question ~60% of the time in this debate... due largely to her grabbing two questions first when they were asked of both candidates.

She's looking pathetic and desperate and grasping... and tantrumish. It is what it is.

*shrug*

Also, a great way to prove Obama's main premises for him w/out even having to say anything - that Americans are TIRED of the same old partisan bickering over crap that doesn't matter and that Hillary's judgement is suspect (also that the common belief that she's in it for her and doesn't care if the people don't want her is looking more and more right). Just like John Edwards great line in SC, all this BS isn't going to get people health care, education, keep them in their homes etc.

Hillary only worked as a front runner, once she lost that she's been floundering like a turtle on her back. And none of her advisors have found a successful way to find the extra gear necessary to catch the new front runner...

Baloney. She's just doing more of her phony schtick about how unfair it all is.

Candidates want to answer first. There are few if any questions they haven't thought of. When they get first crack they can recite their carefully planned answers. The guy who goes second has to respond on the fly to whatever the first guy said. And in races like this, where there's little difference on policy, they're frequently reduced to agreeing and perhaps noting minor differences.

That people like you automatically assume that Obama is "copying" Clinton proves the point.

Of course! This is exactly how Obama has been able to the the "most improved debater" of the year. Those 2 wks he refused to debate, he has been studying what it is that Hillary does. Not only did he memorize facts, actually learn details of his own proposals on his website that he used to cite for answers to questions, he also learned tactics such bringing up specific encounters with real people. There were a few times in the Texas debate when he was clearly trying to remember facts that he had just memorized recently... the pauses and grasping. He has Hillary to thank for his improvement!

What he hasn't learned, because it CANNOT be learned over 2 wks, is Hillary's depth and breadth of not just knowledge but UNDERSTANDING, and her ability to hold a LOT of things in her mind all at once. Unfortunately, she hasn't been able to show off this most unique quality in the last two debates. I saw it when she spoke in Virginia, when she talked about global warming and abortion. And unfortunately, this kind of thing doesn't make for a good show in any event - but I think that it would serve all of us well in the White House and when she's sitting across the table with other leaders around the world.

AND, what he hasn't learned (or assimilated) is her PASSION for these issues, because that would make him a wonk, which the public disdains. He gets passionate, exercised if she "scores" a point with and argument.

Yes yes she made an ass of herself in the last few weeks, in the debates, in press conferences, etc, b/c she's that nerd in the 7th grade that the cool kids jeer at, and who when she tries to talk back just looks even sillier. That doesn't take away from her intelligence, her knowledge, her competence, her command. She shouldn't have stooped to 7th grade politics. She belongs in the Oval Office with her glasses and papers, GETTING THINGS DONE like a bitch.

AND it's not over for me yet. I still get to vote for her on Mar 4!!!!!!!

P.S. about passion (fr above post)

Obama's passion is for rhetoric, for uplifting the masses, no one can beat him on that. It's just different from passion about healthcare, public policies, issues. Most of us don't have much interest or passion for the latter, but shouldn't the president?

So what you are saying is she needs some time to mature? :)

Obama's passion is for law, politics, and making his country great. Hillary might show more passion for policy details, but he has a much wider vision. She'll be a perfect VP for him.

:D

Last I checked, Congress wrote the laws, not the president. It's his job to direct the policy but not necessarily to write it. The president doesn't have the time to sit down and whip out a 2 inch thick law for health care reform, he'll trust his advisors and congress to do that...

Hillary's passion is for power. Not that Obama doesn't want it too...but the presidency seems like a shiny coin she's trying to grab, not a way to make positive changes for the people.

I respect her for getting to where she is. She is a historic figure and one of the strongest, smartest people, let alone women, in my lifetime. But I don't think she's the right woman to lead the country. I know it might be silly to wait for the "perfect" woman candidate, but what if she really messes up? Where does that put the next woman candidate? I would hope Americans would be able to get past the gender stereotyping, but as much as we say we are...

I have no problem with that. It'll be his job to make sure it all jives with his vision.

Racist. ;)
