Gender Heroes
by cousinavi

How sad that, in searching for examples of women not being limited by traditional roles; resisting the posited post-9/11 backlash, people will turn to an incompetent embarrassment like Condi Rice.

Let us hope our society has not degraded itself to the point where holding the job (all by itself and unburdened by any assessment of whether it is done well) is sufficient to tell our daughters, "Someday YOU could be Sec. State!"

We've had less effective Secretaries of State, including Colin Powell.

Would you rather tell 'em to sue a college lacrosse team?

That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard or read anywhere. Condi Rice a better Sec. State than Colin Powell? Better at licking W's nutsack, perhaps.

"I didn't do anything because no one told me to do anything. If there had been something I had needed to do, someone would have told me to do it. No one told me to do anything, so there was nothing I needed to do."
- Condi at the 9/11 Commission responding to questions as to why, as the NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR, took no action in response to intelligent reports stating AQ sought to attack inside the US.

Great. The NSA was sitting around waiting for instructions. From WHOM? Her tenure as Sec. State has been a waste of jet fuel and more nothing after nothing. She's a weak academic Neocon ball slatherer, and nothing more.

We haven't gotten into any new wars with Condi Rice as Sec. of State. We got into two under Colin Powell. You were saying.....?
