hmmm...
by MelMaggieMax
I have to admit I was suspicious when I read bottle-feeding mom's post. Accosted by strangers on the street? For bottle feeding? Being a thin-skinned kind of gal, I nursed my babies at home but bottle-fed them pumped milk when out in public. I never received so much as a second glance when bottle feeding. Although, to be honest, when I did attempt breastfeeding in public (at the mall, no less!), I didn't notice too many stares. I think the whole discussion brings up the fact that we moms are so very sensitive about our choices. Breastfeed, pump, formula-feed, work, stay home... Do what you have to do! Babies are incredibly resilient and won't fault you for your choice. Let's not be our own biggest critics.

Maybe it depends on where you live. I was accosted by strangers about breastfeeding often enough that I thought about getting a T-shirt made:

"Had Cancer. No breasts."

But dammit it is nobody's business!
