Yes, "A Wake Up Call"
by Shibbo
That is what Obama and his campaign desperately needs. All this "discussing the future" clearly isn't resonating with voters, as evidenced by his recent string of failures.

It's resonated with Dems, but not all of them. And it might not resonate with Republicans, who tend to have a different world-view (which is why they're Republicans).

Again, this is just the primaaaaaarrrriiiiieessss.

I feel like that should be a song.

Mercadia: good points.

This is partly why I'm an Independent - the Democrats always get so loud in believing that there can not be another possible candidate besides their person, they get worked up, stars come out supporting the candidate, exciting rallies are televised...and then election day rolls around, and they find out that for a vast majority of the country, the spectacle doesn't translate to votes.

Dems, in general, are always so busy being loudly superior that they push themselves off to the fringe of the left trying to use their excitement to force their candidate to win.

I've talked to some of my conservative friends, and I'm really curious to see what other conservatives and Republicans would do if McCain gets the R nomination (almost a certainty, unless there is an Nth hour change) and Obama gets the D nomination. Many of these conservative folks aren't excited about Obama's speeches or policy positions. It will be interesting.

Any word about who McCain is actually leaning toward for his VP? That might be as big a factor in the election because (and I'm sorry if this is morbid and insensitive), he is an older man. Any speculation or dream VP wishes?

How about a VP who is not for torture? Or is that too much to ask?
