Dems display their love for terrorists
by Americafirst
-2 Reply
Today the Dems closed up shop and went home without continuing FISA which expires on Saturday. This leaves the US wide open for fresh terror attacks and it can only be laid at the feet of the terrorist loving Dems. I hope, I pray, I get on my knees and bow to the east in the hope that this stupid, self serving, treasonous act of today allows the terrorists to smugggle a nuke into DC and take out that entire rat's nest of traitorous bastards.

Can you explain the Republican's retarded behavior?

I think your time would be much better spent lobbying the Republicans to try to do something about securing our borders. It just makes me sick to hear when the Republicans talk about their fear of us being attacked again and yet they won't do squat to further protect our borders. If they can see the threat, why don't they act on it and protect our borders?

Can you explain the Republican's retarded behavior?

Which stretch of border are you patrolling?
Re: Can you explain the Republican's retarded behavior?

No, I don't patrol any area.

Now, if we hadn't sent most of the National Guard to Iraq for an ill-advised war, we probably would have had more than enough well-trained soldiers and equipment available to guard vast areas of our national border and secure our borders.

It sure seems to me that our National Guard should be the ones guarding our national borders!

"No, I don't patrol any area"

So it isn't actually all that important to you except as some assinine political abstract-- got it.

"if we hadn't sent most of the National Guard to Iraq"

How many Guardsmen are there? How many are in Iraq? Source(s)?

Re: Can you explain the Republican's retarded behavior?

In 2004, the National Guard had an estimated 40000 soldiers in Iraq. Since then it has gone up some, some current estimates are closer to 50000 soldiers in Iraq.

Yes, patrolling the borders is very important to keep out the terrorists but obviously, patrolling the borders effectively also requires some very high-tech equipment that the National Guard does have available.

"some current estimates are closer to 50000 soldiers in Iraq"

Again: out of how many?

I don't have an exact number on that but I have some State estimates that up to 60% of their National Guard force is deployed in the Middle East.

You people really don't get it do you? By letting FISA die the dems have taken away the CIA and NSA's ability to protect you. You are going to die. You can thank all your stupid, arrogant dem friends for this. Then you need to get your affairs in order.

You know jack shit about FISA, the CIA, and the NSA, Nancy-- swing your purse at somebody else.

There are over 460,000 members of the National Guard. Fewer than 12,000 of them are in Iraq; a further 4,000 are in Afghanistan. A total of about 255,000 Guard have been rotated through Iraq and Afghanistan; current US force composition in Iraq includes about 11% Guard and Reserve.

The actual deployment numbers seem somewhat subject to interpretation. For example, if I use the Wikipedia numbers which combines National Guard members and reservists together comprising 43% of the frontline fighting force in Iraq . I am not sure what an accurate representation of the total front-line fighting force is in Iraq however if it is 60% of the total force of 150,000 then the calculation would be (150,000 * .60) * .43 = 38700 National Guard and Reservists in the Iraq frontline fighting force plus the 55% National Guard members and reservists of the maybe 25000? frontline soldiers in Afghanistan.

From Wikipedia:

"The Air National Guard has more than 106,000 personnel, and the Army National Guard (ARNG) around 325,000 personnel (as of February 2006).[citation needed]

National Guard members and reservists now comprise a larger percentage of frontline fighting forces than in any war in U.S. history (about 43 percent in Iraq and 55 percent in Afghanistan). There are now 183,366 National Guard members and reservists on active duty nationwide who leave behind about 300,000 dependents, according to U.S. Defense Department statistics."

Perhaps you didn't read the material at the link I posted?

The CRS isn't Wikipedia.
