McCain/Rice ticket???? HMMMM???
by evensteven

There's an interesting pair for you dems, huh?

Condi Rice would surely be recognized as one of the most intellegent women, black or white, in the nation. I would love to see the reaction of the NOW crowd on this one!

great ... Rice is only tied to this war

no baggage there, right?

Name somebody in public service at a relevant level who has "no baggage."
you're right, the War in Iraq is

not much of an albatross for Rice.

Your straw-man is leaking.

Didn't understand the question?

Rice stands for - in the eyes of most of the public - going to war in Iraq. That is not too appealing at the VP slot in a national election. What else is there?

So that's "no" then-- got it.
I see English is a problem for you

What about Rice gets beyond the baggage of Iraq? Simple question, and you can't answer it?

Rice is intelligent and a hard worker, but has crafted ZERO policy in the last 8 years. She is a mouthpiece for the administration. When Iraq was going well and we were all about promoting democracy fully, transforming the middle east was the Rice doctrine; the Lebanese war of 06 was the "birth pangs of the new middle east." Now we're valuing stability over democracy by reengaging Sunni allies against Iran, and Rice is just as chipper about the policy. Colin Powell was a principled secretary of state who did his job and actually brought something to the table.

Rice works hard, but something tells me that there's not a lot of original thinking (or leadership) going on there.

An interesting question for us Dems? The only interesting question is what McCain would have to be smoking to do something so spectacularly stupid.

Bring it the fuck on!

Condi positively reeks of the Bush administration and its failures in Iraq. Project #1 for the Obama campaign will be to hang Iraq, and for that matter anything having to do with the Bush adminstration, around McCain's neck like a boat anchor. As the author of the article suggests, expect to see the phrase "Bush-McCain" often enough that loses its hyphen and is considered for inclusion in the Oxford English Dictionary as a synonym for a giant steaming pile of monkey feces.

That would save the Democrats from having to remind anyone that a vote for the Republican ticket is a vote for continuing the past ~8 years.

John McCain already supports the war in Iraq so I don't think having Condoleezza Rice as his VP hurts him all that much in that regard. He is going to get attacked for his position whether she is there or not.

policy. Either negotiate with terrorists or terrorist states? Oh, that's right, I forgot, they don't have a friggin' policy! What exactly have they said they would do?

NOTHING!

What was the title of that PDB? Anyone who testifies in front of congress with that level of situational awareness is either an idiot or a conspirator. What kind of minstrel show has this campaign become? Whoa, they've got a black guy we need to get one too. Hell, lets get the only black woman we can think of; even though she's an impending disaster she's a BLACK WOMAN! Get her out there bojangling for the white folks right away, that’ll insure victory. The logic is truly dizzying. I thought we were past this arms race approach in this century or is it a race race?
