The Clintons Did Fail Ultimately.
by Mr.ADR
In 1994 the Clintons lost the House after a forty-year reign, and the Senate. Bill was impeached, but not removed, is hardly a success. There was a budget surplus, quickly spent by W. There was no positive lasting impact of the Clintons. Their weakness led to victories for the GOP. They also dogged the 2004 election in hopes Kerry would lose.
If HRC wins you'll see DEMOCRATIC majorities in CONGRESS vanish.
The Clinton's are not good people.

The Clintons didn't lose the House... the Democrats lost the House. Or are you implying that if the Democrats had put forth a different candidate the Republican revolution wouldn't have occurred?

I'm an ardent democrat - I would never vote for Republican for any legislative office (though perhaps for an executive office like President or Governor). That said, one party rule is not good for democracy - you get entrenched interests and out-of-touch legislators. So Democrats already had controlled the House for too long - nearly half a century! Thus, the Republican sweet was a necessary corrective, I think. Majorities should tremble at the thought of the next election... Nancy Pelosi should have many sleepless nights thinking about what Democrats can do to retain their majority - that's being a true public servant.

All that said, I do hope Democrats hang on to their majorities for a while longer. But if they gotta lose it, better do it with a Dem in the White House - keep the country from going entirely to hell (or Iraq), haha...

What undid the Democrats imo was Clinton, early on begining the civil war still ongoing between social liberals and social conservatives, and letting it bury other issues, like Healthcare.
