The Wheels of Justice Spin
by RICK POFFENROTH

Ok, now we have evidence legally obtained through legitmate interrogation that we can use at the military tribunals that will convict and hang these bad actors.

Anyone ever heard the old ditty: march the guilty bastard in; let the wheels of jjustice spin?

To bad the rest of the World is going to look at this as no more then a legal technicality that we overcame to ensure convictions.

How's that work anyway? You punch a guy until he tells you he did it and then a few days later you ask him politely, did you do it! Is that still legal, even in front of a military tribunal?

It wold be interesting to know what information was given up during water boarding and other techniques (rerverse SERE procedures) and how it actually jives with what the FBI secured.

Somehow though, although I think these guys are guilty of something, I can't imagine they were "all" in the loop on the events leading up to September 11, 2001.

But, I'm never without an alternate idea. Let's smear pig fat on them, make them face west 24/7 for the rest of their lives. That ought to send a message that America is really serious about fighting Islamic terrorism.

I think you should let them go.

Placebo is probably right. JUst let them go because trying them, and even executing them won't resolve anything. It will just cause more hatred and disrespect for the US around the world. This is just another botched job by the Bush White House.

It occurs to me that the only reason they're going ahead with the trials is that otherwise there would not be a single damned thing that the Bush administration can say they've done about the people who attacked the U.S. on 9/11. The war in Iraq sure as hell had nothing to do with 9/11 and everyone knows it.

It's timed for the election - fear sells

After waiting 6.5 years, the W gang has decided to proceed with these trials on a schedule that will synchronize nicely with the election. Fear always sells. They did not count on the fact that the R nominee, McCain, doesn't like torture (gee, I wonder why not)
