Doomed
by drwatson221b

After today, she is doomed. By failing to even vote on the dood-Feingold Telecomm Surveillance amendment, the ONLY Democrat to fail to vote, she can no longer criticize Obama's "present" votes in Illinois. At least he showed up. Is this the leadership she expects to have in the Oval Office, capitulating to losses in civil liberties.

Good-bye and good riddance.

Dear Obama Lackey: Mrs. Clinton, and anyone else, can criticize Mr. Obama for anything at any time. It's called the 1st Amendment. What kind of fascist campaign is your cause turning into? The fact that Mr. Obama doesn't recognize criticism isn't the same thing as not warranting criticism. Of course, Kim Jung Il doesn't recognize criticism. Perhaps if Mr. Obama and the Dear Leader ever meet, they can exchange notes on the subject. There's a weak underbelly to the Obama campaign: the Obama fans. They are uniformly ugly and thin-skinned. Y'all keep this up and I'll vote for McCain or Huckabee over your fool candidate.

OK, turn-about is fair play. Obama has to quit whining and sniveling that Clinton voted for the Iraq War because he's consistently voted FOR FUNDING THE WAR.

When your candidate starts living up to his own levels, we'll stop calling him a hypocrite.

Obama is not particularly fascist for an American politician. Clinton has been using the strongarm tactics of intimidation for a year, I don't even know what you are talking about. Google clinton body count, you'll see the dozens of dead bodies associated with the Clinton sleaze. All Obama has is Rezko, big deal compared to the hundreds of Clinton scams.

Obama said before the war that an attack on Iraq would be a huge mistake, for the U.S. The reason why that's important, is that it shows he has good judgement, better judgement than Hillary Clinton. As to funding the war, once it started, it would have both irresponsible and political suicide to leave the troops without adequate funds. That's one of the reasons why the war in Iraq is a debacle on a gigantic scale. As always, in these types of situations, once you're in, it's nearly impossible to get out. Apparently, Obama learned the lesson of Vietnam, better than Hillary did.
I'm enjoying this unnecessarily bitter dispute immensely

There's a difference between the initial vote and voting to fund the troops once they're there on the ground. Its not hypocrisy, its a reasonable judgment.

If Hillary didn't realize she was voting for the war, and only voted because she wanted to give Bush the authority to negotiate with teeth, why has she consistently voted for funding the war, if as you say, voting against the funding is the right thing to do.

You shouldn't be calling Obama a hypocrite anyway. Its not constructive. Obama doesn't call Hillary a hypocrite. With respect to her position on Iraw, he calls her wrong.

Okay Richmond, obviously I've struck a nerve. I should have clarified that her standing to criticize Obama on "present" votes was now significantly less persuasive. She should still explain why she was the only Deomcratic Senator to fail to vote on such an important amendment that would have served only to protect civil liberties. (I suppose that makes me facist?) In your rant, you failed to acknowledge the purpose of my post...this will look very badly for Hillary, and it will live in the news cycle until Texas and Ohio on March 4.

In not attending the vote, it opens only further questions about who is in her pocket. Does she receive lobby money from any large Telecomm companies? We will never know what information was obtained by Telecomms that willingly chose to break the law for domestic spying. Though her one vote wouldn't have changed the outcome, you'd think she'd want her name in bold letters as standing in opposition to this balnket immunity.

And therefore, I think this will help serve to doom her campaign. If you want to address that you can, or you can bring up facism and Kim Jong Il or the first amendment on another unrelated rant. (However, if you think that Obama "fans" are a weak underbelly to the campaign, you'll be mistaken. The record turnouts at the polls, not exactly turning out for McCain or Huckabee, aren't going anywhere.)
