"He is somebody, though, who has not defined his life driven by his politics or driven by his ideology."
I don't care if this assessment did come from his former roommate. This administration would never, never, never allow the appointment of anyone who did not define his life according to politics and rightwing ideology. In cases where they slipped up and appointed somebody competent and moderate, such as Colin Powell, they quickly rectified the error by finding a more ideologically driven replacement.
I suppose some observers thought the Roberts nomination would be different because it was the Supreme Court, after all, not some insignificant office like Secretary of State. Still, past is prelude, particularly with a president who never made a mistake and never changed his mind about anything.
All we will ever get from this administration is ideology, a very narrow ideology that includes no respect for the principles upon which the nation was founded. Aaron Burr would be right at home in the Bush administration.
