Feminism: This phenomenon is present in all cultures anymore including muslim ones. Know why Mr. Hitchens? I'll tell you why (bet you were expecting that). Because MEN have failed to be the HONORABLE muslims they were born to be. Even the muslim men are failing at that and hence, we have this thing called "The Battle of the Genders" i.e. the Gender Gap, Women's Rights. The devil is in the details you know and the devil tells you to read things backwards (haven't you ever listened to Abbey Road that way Chris?). It is said that one of the signs of the "end" of a civilization, way of life, way of thinking is....that men will start to dress like women and women like men. Now that is just delicious rhetoric for fools isn't it? People who jump up and down and think its about being gay or transexual or "something else" (a hybrid which is cited clearly in the Quran when Allah says he created all things of THREE types: male, female and HYBRIDS).....it isn't about that. It's about MEN ABDICATING their role as custodians of government, society, the welfare of children and the rights of the poor and oppressed (outcome of GREED). That's how you know that has happened to YOU. You start wearing ladies pink panties and I would not be a bit surprised if you do that Hitchens. Or do you do boxers?
The Quran actually tells muslims to marry only ONE woman if they cannot be the CUSTODIANS of four DESTITUTE ones. Unfortunately, many muslim men have exploited that rule. As for non muslims, they just do it anyway and carry on with adultery as normal. As do the women.
Ah...one of those glorious prophecies we muslims know about is that adultery will be commited on the "open highway" (internet)....and it is. Why, Mr. Hitchens, I could go find an agreeable partner in less than ten minutes on the internet. Whereas in the past, when men and women actually paid attention to what the Creator was telling them...would be HARD PRESSED to find a partner in crime.
Partners in crime nowdays are the rule sir....not the exception. It's just the case that you believe your NORMS are right just because they are practiced by the majority. NORMS are not right. Norms are NORMS. And in the case of modern man, the NORMS have gone completely astray and hence, we have people in places like Iraq suffering the consequences of a whole lot of things that you simply like to ignore.
Trust me...your party of non belief and bullshit is getting smaller all the time. One day, you might end up all alone and then, to your creator you will return. Hope you have some really good excuses and have done some MIGHTY important charity work because according to the cheat sheet (Quran) it is the one thing that MIGHT get you a hall pass. But probably not because there isn't a charity big enough in this world to make up for what it is people like you do every day and get PAID for it and that is:
SPREAD IGNORANCE.
