"to pimp" vb.
by pace pace

Does anyone else remember the 50's , 60's era use of the verb "to pimp" meaning to lampoon or satirize?

"Flash Cadillac and the Heart attack Kids" was said to have "pimped" the 50's style Rock an' Roll sound (just barely re emerging into popularity at that , pre Woodstock age).

Maybe it was a use nearer " to exploit" but it always seemed to refer to "to parody" or nearly so.

Any traces in this vein in the dusty chronicles?
