SHARIA COMES TO THE ARCHBISHOP
by MFINN
In the cause of relevance, apparently, His Grace the Archbishop of Canterbury has made himself and, by extension, the entire Anglican Communion irrelevant and ridiculous. Perhaps this is what comes of being the head of an "established" church, but it is beyond stupid even to consider ceding the legal framework of any nation or polity in a piecemeal way among the various sects. In the sphere of legal rights, all should be equal and accountable to the same laws. Unfortunately, for many Muslims, the idea of a separation between their religion and the state is not only incorrect but, I guess, blasphemous. That, I submit, is their problem. To eliminate this contradiction requires them to agitate politically for the general adoption of their point of view by the larger society and the imposition of Shar'ia as the constitutional basis of the government. Since this appears on its face a practical impossibility, then they should submit to the situation or leave the country in question.

I consider myself a co-religionist of the Archbishop. But I believe that is a profound error on my part.
