While the Clinton administration did some have some stellar achievements, their screw-ups outweighed them. A few of the many examples are establishing an income tax on seniors' social security benefit, allowing for the costly translation and printing of thousands of government documents and websites and allowing the conditions for 9/11 to develop unchecked. And those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
If we had gone with some sane and workable Campaign Finance reform plan, nobody's money would be an option today. So don't blame the guy with the most money, blame your representatives for not stepping up and doing the right thing,
With Romney out of the picture, we will never know how strong he would have been in OH, TX and PA. There is no longer an option for those of us who want a strong foreign policy, no special treatment for illegals, business-like economic policies and a President with values, but not dictating those values to the People.
I am now faced with the choice of opting for
a strong foreign policy, special entitlements for illegals, and a fuzzy economic plan (McCain) OR
crummy health insurance options because I'm middle-class/no kids, turn-tail-and-run Iraq policy, lots of flowery speeches and a management style right out of the Bush Family Playbook (Obama)
OR Inclusive health insurance, measured, sane and dignified withdrawl from Iraq and a fuzzy immigration plan, plus Bill in the PR Dept. (Clinton).
I now see why Florida and Michigan had their primaries when they did. All the primaries from now until the convention really don't have a say on the Republican side. That isn't right.
There is a lot about the American election process that needs tweaking; it's not about offering the two best candidates in the end. And that's to our detriment.
