Just four years ago the very same people (Rush, etc) were castigating Romney for his mixture of social and fiscal moderation (he was a businessman, but no anti social spender), and at the same time castigating Kerry for being a "flip-flopper".
Now, Romney has "floped" (flipped?) into social conservatism, and he becomes the darling of the "conservatives"
Why, less than 5 months ago, some of the "conservative base" were questioning Romney's Christian bona fides; unable to see his being a Mormon as anything more than an unacceptable "cultishness".
McCain, with his 82% conservative voting record in Congress, is not conservative enough, just because he didn't support everything George Bush proposed?
