Well,Arkady

It seems the Kennedy's and Arnold did not sway votes.

Hillary won Massachusetts and California. Many of the Obama states were sparsely populated.

Alaska had 405 voters.What a win!

Hillary garnered the big one in California, but when one moves past each state individually, and looks at BIG picture...ut us vurtyakkt a dead geat,

I don't think the time is right for anone to be celebrating....it's, as they say, 'too close to call.'

Darn it....

Hope this finds you feeling better:o)

No one is gloating.I am just surprised that the Kennedy name did not do more. They also had John Kerry.

Nothing is settled yet and my guy is gone.I wonder who will get his delegates?

Re: Well,Arkady

Yep. I suppose Kennedy's endorsement was helpful, in that it may have closed a bit of the gap for Obama, but ultimately the people of Massachusetts tend to be a lot more about issues than a lot of states, and Clinton campaigned on the issues.

"but ultimately the people of Massachusetts tend to be a lot more about issues than a lot of states, "

And that explains Romney's win as well, I suppose...

Re: Well,Arkady

Hehe.

Actually, I think it explains why McCain bothered to campaign in Massachusetts right up to the end, when typically candidates write off their opponents' home states as wasted time and money. McCain knew that Massachusetts wasn't that kind of absolute lock for Romney. Ultimately his home-town status was too big a factor to overcome, but the state was pretty competitive, especially considering Huckabee was a non-factor (whereas, elsewhere, he's been splitting the conservative vote with Romney and handing McCain the state).

McCain lost by only ten points in Massachusetts, despite Huckabee pulling a dismal 4%. That compares to a 17-point win for Clinton in New York, a 40-point win for Huckabee in Arkansas, a 42-point win for Clinton in Arkansas, a 32-point win for Obama in Illinois, and a 14-point win for McCain in Arizona. Romney's performance in Massachusetts was the worst showing by a candidate on his home turf.

In his defense, he did wonderfully in Utah -- then again, they never had to suffer through four years with him as governor, did they?

Re: Well,Arkady

I could almost vote for Romney.I think he would be good for the economy, and would certainly restore the Reputation we have lost.

McCain is a hot head.I would not want him near that button.

Re: Well,Arkady

Romney was very bad for the Massachusetts economy, so I wouldn't want him near the national economy. On the plus side, he's only pretending to be a social conservative to capture the Republican nomination. He's actually far to the left of where he's pretending to be. McCain's more dangerous in that he's far more in the thrall of his own ego and far more of an extremist.

That's a helluva way for Kerry to pay back Bill Clinton's campaigning for him in the last election.

Short memory I guess.

Re: Well,Arkady

I agree, and that arrow Bill Clinton shot at him reached it's mark! Clinton commented for the camera a few weeks ago that Hillary and McCain are "good friends," Joe Scarborough pointed out that it would end up in an attack ad and it DID. A Romney TV attack ad against McCain featured it!

Bill can be very good at times...

Arnold didn't matter ?
by denny

He endorsed McCain - who won the State on the Republican side.

d;-)

Re: John Kerry...
by Arkady
In the end, I don't hold that against Kerry. He's got to make his endorsements based on what he thinks is in the best interest of the nation, rather than based on personal feelings. I'd like to think that he personally wanted to support Hillary Clinton, to pay back the campaigning Bill had done for him, but he just thought endorsing Obama would be better for the nation. I'll never know for sure. I certainly don't agree with him, but I have no reason to think he wasn't acting in accordance with the dictates of his conscience.
