There's a Reason You're A Pariah
by Sensible Centrist
You are a student at Georgetown, you should have a brain.
The Wash Post poll on Sunday had McCain beating Hillary 49-46.
At the same time, Obama beat McCain 49-46.
At this point, the Republicans haven't even started slinging the mud at Hillary and she is losing. And there's a lot of mud to sling.
Meanwhile, Obama's popularity continues to grow, and there just isn't any mud to sling at him. He is authentic, he has true integrity.
He beats McCain.
Vote for the winner!

A vote for Hillary is a vote for McCain.

er..."sensible" those people who gather information by telephone--one called me last night and the baby was crying so I asked them not to call back, to assemble what we call "polls" are not what our democracy is based on: real voting is. Yet, you seem to base so much of your opinion on them apparently without even knowing that 3% is within the margin of error of even the most wide-spread poll. Just how far was Zagby wrong in New Hampshire anyway? IF, Florida had counted their votes--or even part of them as the did the republicans, Hillary would already be ahead of Obama. Yes, yes yes, Obama is the flavor of the month and strongly preferred by some noisy people--many in the media. But a vote for Hillary is not a vote for war-mongering McCain. This is the kind of childish claim that makes many long-time dems fear an Obama nom: if its based on this kind of shrillness and threats.

Divisive? Yeah, I'D like to be so divisive as to get the endorsements of both Maxine Waters AND Merle Haggard. (and union members, and hispanics, and blue collar dems, and New York dems, and California dems--watch today and learn some grace!, rural dems, elderly dems, women dems, Asian dems, and Jewish dems, etc. So she doesn't have the African-Americans yet? Trust me, she will in November. Just repeating dishonest republican clap-trap like Hillary is "unelectable" is a whiny and yes 'divisive' tactic Obama supporter. Why not grow up ?

"I believe in hope. I believe in change. I believe that hoping for change is not enough. We have to change to keep the hope. It's not okay to be right, you have to be right for hope. And right for change. So, basically, hope and change. That's what I offer. Hope to change, but I won't change just because of polls. That wouldnt' be hopeful." -- Sen. Barack Obama, The Eternal Optimist Dinner, 11/31/07

Yes, Dave, your guy certainly says the word 'change' a lot. Beyond a doubt, you are right that he frequently uses that word. Just says it. 'change'. fits it in again.

but then what?

All right there, Slim. I'll grant you that Hillary will probably win this whole thing. But you knock the "change" message which Hillary started trumpeting very hard after losing to Obama in Iowa. Now you more than anyone else know how smart Hillary is. So there must be something to this "change" message, right?

Furthermore, an expert on politics like yourself, knows that Hillary will probably be running against McCain. You understand (better than anyone else) that her message against Obama cannot be "experience" because McCain has more. Her message cannot be "ready on day one to be Comm. in Chief" because McCain is more qualified. Her message will be what, Slim? Yes, that's right "Change." Good Slim. Good Slim.

McCain really doesn't have experience because he doesn't learn from his mistakes. Did you hear Pat Buchannan last night on MSNBC lamenting the fact that (despite his Nam experience) he is such a war-monger that (in Pat's prediction) he would 'have us in Iran within a year'. I want someone who learns from their mistakes and moves forward, whether it be the war or how to present a better more inclusive health care program sorely needed in the U.S. I never said I was an 'expert' nor would I lable McCain "Mr. experience" as you seem to want to do. Hillary can beat him, don't worry, Merle Haggard and Maxine Waters agree on that.

THose polls are meaningless at this point. My bet is either candidate will wipe the floor with McCain. He's going to look very old and very out of touch once the debates start. Have you seen any of his acceptance speeches? He looks stiffer than Bob Dole.

Amazing how the media is right when it says something about anyone but your candidate. In reality no-one knows where we will be or what any of the candidates will be able to do if they get elected. At least Obama is willing and more able than Clinton to work with both sides to try to get things done.

Re: Slim

willing and able to 'work with both sides' and reach out...I love that Obama supporter line, it's so silly. He can't seem to get the elderly vote, the women vote, the hispanic vote, the Asian vote, the union vote, the blue-collar dem vote, the rural dem vote, the Jewish vote, the FLA or Michigan vote (and today, he won't get the NY and/or CAL votes), but you see, he's supposedly better at 'reaching out'....

to who? I suspect, Don Napp, ONLY to selfish people such as yourself. right?

If the dems had done what the repubs did--and sat even 1/2 of FLA's and Mich's delegates, Clinton would already be ahead. But no interesting story for the media, who talk of the "MO" Obama has generated by...Iowa? and South Carolina? You know, if I was Mitt Romney I would be pi***d. Why no stories about 'the mo' Romney got by winning Maine. I don't think I read that once, the media is SO in the McCain (and Obama) camp/s.

>>but then what?<<

I was being facetious, Slim. O'Bama certainly isn't "my guy."

And take off your hat and wipe your shoes when you come in the main house.
