Won't even watch it. The real football has already been played this season, it's pageant time! That's what the super bowl is.....a hyped up commercial pageant. I know I am a spoil sport, a wet blanket but.....I'm just sayin......

Sure - I've been to two Patriots games at Foxboro...... and sure I lived an hour from NYC for 3 years.....

But that does not a fan make.

I agree, especially once the cheating Patriots got there. More allegations have come out. Put an asterisk on their "perfect" season and maybe all their Vince Lombardis.

Especially if the Giants are playing the Ravens...

I have to agree with Merc on this. Pro and college football especially has always, ever since I was a kid and read about Rome, reminded me of how the games back in Rome's days were used to distract the citizens from what their leaders were up to, yet keep them frothing and worked up in case of all out warfare.

As a kid I enjoyed playing baseball, b-ball, football, etc. with my friends. As I got older and saw the underlying aspect it totally and permanently took away any enjoyment of higher levels sports.

To this day all I think of when I come across ANY professional or college sports, but particularly pro football (and specifically the Super Bowl), is Rome.

There's a very real reason why America has for a very long time always been compared to Rome and that's just one of the reasons.

No, I won't be watching it. I never do.
