Democrat debate too polite?
by parthecourse

It will be judged by what you want to hear.

If you want government controlled and enforced healthcare, Hillary will give it to you.

If you want lowered insurance cost so you can afford it then Obama is your man. At least that is what he said.

I don't want either. I am old school and believe that healthcare is the responsibility of the family. No matter what, my parents took on the healthcare for our family and I did the same for my family.

Our biggest problem in the USA is that the family is not stable enough to take care of its self. So we must look to the government to do what we won't take on ourselves.

You've never had serious, expensive, life threathening illness...have you?

How about, one wage earner of the family gets laid off. 6 months later, the other finds out she has terminal cancer. What do they do then? She can't work and loses the insurance for the family. She can't afford to buy insurance, because she's too sick to work.

She died in 2003. Her husband died a couple of months ago--cancer as well.

Re: Par you are flying high today but

no one knows what tomorrow will bring. You or a loved one could contact a deadly expensive disease.

I'd think twice before I turned down government medical help. Pride is fine but it doesn't bring back a living loved one. Medical assistance might.

Just a thought

No, the debate was not too polite. They discussed isues and didn't make personal attacks. Chances are...the media was bummed. They like blood but I thought the candidates did just fine.

heart failure sound for an answer to your stupid question?

The reason why I call that ? stupid is that I see this sort of thing on here all the time and We have no idea what another has gone through. So it's stupid to stick your foot out to trip someone else.

Re: Universal health is going to happen

When Bush took office there were 42 million Americans (not including illegial aliens) in this country without hospital insurance. Now there are 47 million. Why?

Hugh insurance companies have gotten into the fray and make almost 40% of every dollar spend on health care. Health care in American is by far the most expensive in the world. It is projected that by 2009 a family of four will have to pay in excess of $12,000 per year in after tax dollars for a family of four to be fully insured.

With jobs going overseas and wages severally depressed by big business where are these individuals suppose to get these resources?

The reason that most individuals can't make ends meet with medical insurance is because of yet another "secret meeting" at the White House. The minutes of these meetings are theorically available under the "open records Federal laws" but were stopped by Cheney using executive privilege.

Lets see now. There were secret meetings with Big Oil, Energy, financial institutions, drug corporations, medical insurance companies and probably secret meetings that are still secret. These companies wrote the legislation that was passed by a Republician House, a Republican Senate and signed off by the President.

I hope that whomever is elected President in November that these "secret meetings'" minutes will be opened for public display. I feel that Halliburton, Enron, EXXon and others will be embarrashed and economically punished for what they have done to our economy.

There was no pride in lying in bed flat on my back for 3 months and taking all those pills. They took 1/3 of my heart out. Shocked me several times to get me alive again.

I know all about medical assistance and God's healthcare.

Sure we have health insurance. We pay for it!
by parthecourse

That's what self-employed people do.

All that sounds just like Screeeeeeeeeeeemin Dean wrote it.

What a sad Ass.

Why did none of you address the unstable family?

Divorced, I'd bet.

Thanks for the stupid response. So if I find someone with 6 bypasses, I guess their opinion will counts more that yours.

I am talking about having empathy for others. Your clean sanitized smug answer works only if you don't open you eyes and don't give a damn about others. Health care isn't any just another gov't service, it's about life and death. If you can't have empathy for others, then there is something seriously wrong with your heart.

medical emergencies. How scary and painful it must have been for you.

My post was more about financial medical help. I think I have good medical and dental coverage through my job. However I have never had a serious medical problem.....yet.

I do know this . If I lost my job tomorrow I would have no insurance...Nada. Just like millions of Americans. Now that would be scary to me.

If we can spend a billion dollars a month in Iraq to kill people. I belevie we can spend the same amount to keep American People alive.

outlook on reality.

Set some insurance premium money aside and make some plans for a rainy day.

No one ever gave me health insurance. I'm self-employed. Are you better than me, and therefore deserve someone or Big government to supply you with what you should be providing yourself?

This smacks with the basic difference between Democrats and Republicans. Your ilk have lived with handouts for so long that you all think someone owes you something for nothing.

I'm thinking!

Re: hmmmmmmmm par..
by bandy_etc

I don't think I'm better than you. I'm just not as proud as you are

Before I went to work the personnel office gave me a Benefit Package the medical insurance was part of that package. What do you think I should have done? What would you have done? Would you have screamed at them "Take this medical crap and shove it!!!! I'll buy my own insurance!!!!".

I think not...

Take care of yourself

catch ya later

I'm not proud, A/a, self-employment is

a way of life, and it's a hard life. You work out your own salvation with sweat and blood. I must make my own way and the way for anyone else that I may hire.

I was not suggesting that you throw your insurance pkg. back in your employer's face. I was saying that if you lost it and it worries you that you might, put something back now.
