The writer forgot one of the best features incandescents have that fluorescents don't. You can dim an incandescent bulb with a dimmer switch, and really set the mood. A flourescent is either on off.

Step 1: Unscrew the bright fluorescent bulb.

Step 2: Screw in a dimmer fluorescent bulb.

This sounds like a lot of work, but since most of us need more exercise anyway why not give it a try?
