Political Correctness on the Job

Prudence gave entirely correct advice to the young man who is being harassed by his lesbian boss. But she missed the most important reason he should leave his job. Sooner or later his boss will tire of her game and fire him for some sort of sex related misconduct. That could stigmatize him for years. He should get out while the going is good.

Why should he quit? If the boss was a man and the employee was a female the advice would be to talk to the boss about his behavior or go over his head to the board of directors. If my boss could "only assume" that I was a pedophile because I had a "girl"friend, I would have to correct the boss. I would be recording all conversations till I had a smoking gun.

He could very well get screwed over by his boss. Diverdown made some good points too, but if he doesn't want to have a fight on his hands or fighting her is like fighting city hall, he should just leave.

Agreed

What if the jerky boss is the head of this organization (meaning there's no "higher-up" for him to complain to)?

Or, if there is and he does complain, the jerky boss might still make life difficult for him.

My hus' was fired after complaining about his manager to her boss--despite the fact that the other employees hated her equally and there had already been multiple complaints about her. (This was a crappy bookstore job, so he wasn't too sorry to leave. On the other hand, it kind of sucks that it's so difficult to get rid of a crappy boss.)

As long as this is an easily-obtained entry level position, the easiest thing is probably to get out of there before things really blow up.

Actually, this young man has a good case to sue THEM for sexual harrassment. They have created an uncomfortable working environment for him that appears to be based solely upon his gender. The fact that his boss "misunderstood" his reference to his girlfriend to "interpret" it as him being a pedophile is deliberately offensive. I agree he should leave and find a new job, but I would definitely pursue some legal action against them.

BTW, I am a woman and a feminist - true feminism means equal rights for EVERYONE!
