Toni Morrison's letter to Barack Obama
by pwoxby

With Ted Kennedy's endorsement of Barack Obama being a front-page story, another endorsement has gone largely unnoticed. Toni Morrison, who famously referred to Bill Clinton as America's first black president, has endorsed Obama in this letter to the candidate:

It was noticed. But maybe calling Bill Clinton our first black president wasn't really as insightful as some would claim. Anyway this could be her attempt at atonement for her silly remark as she realizes the US has a chance of having a real black president in her lifetime.

Totally uneventful news to anyone that truly matters. The American elites (White, Black, Hispanic, Jewsih etc) that fawned over themselves to lick the feet of Clinton can now see for themselves who these people really are. Don't get me wrong I'm no democratic supporter but given the choice between Obamaa and Clinton; HE gets my vote everytime. The Clintons are not genuine in any of their political or personal sentiments. The supposed 'love affair with Clintons' was a media hype that many people fell for - including Toni Morrison. The Clintons lbelieve that they can trot out Toni Morrison, Maya Angelou, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Harry Belafonte and all minorities will fawn at their feet like the workers at the Clinton's Arkansas (white members only) Golf Club. Ms. Morrison needs to silently sit in the background, contribute money and fundraise for Obama. As with all sell outs it takes a while for them to ever regain your trust, if ever.

That's a bit harsh on Clinton's early supporters. In 1991 I was one of them. I bought into the Clinton hype. By 2000 I wanted him to leave and not come back. Now that his comeback is underway, I'm fighting heart and soul to warn Clinton supporters not to repeat my mistake in 1991.

The last Clinton administration was a co-presidency. Another Clinton administration will be a co-presidency. The Clintons have dropped all pretext of it being otherwise. So why go back to the past when our hopes and dreams await us in the future?
