Enough Already!

I am sick and tired of the candidates telling me why their opponent won't make a good president. Instead, I want to hear why they would make a good president.

I will vote for the first candidate to convince me that they have the best plan for any/all of the following:

1. Generating meaningful, non-dead-end jobs by bringing manufacturing back to our shores and providing on-the-job training for those jobs.

2. Weaning us from our dependence on fossil fuels by making an immediate, massive push for an alternative energy infrastructure (i.e. Space Based Solar Power).

3. Stemming the out-of-control rise in health care costs while providing best-in-the-world health care for all.

4. Eliminating starvation from our population.

5. Rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure.

6. Safeguarding our environment and convincing the rest of the world to follow suit.

7. Restoring our national credibility worldwide and leading by example rather than force.

I don't care about their religious beliefs, I don't care about their stance on abortion or stem cell research, I don't whether they support a constitutional amendment banning flag burning or prayer in school, I don't care if they if they look more pious while reciting the Pledge of Allegiance or if their "family values" are stronger than the other candidate.

We've got some real problems in this country that need immediate solutions.

As James Carville most famously said, "It's the Economy, Stupid!" If we fix the economy the right way, everything else will take care of itself.

To your list I would add:

8. Healing the deep political division that has come to distort national discourse. Restoring the nation's trust in its own government.

I suspect we have differing opinions on who might best do this, however.

Here's a simple answer. Take a serious look at what the Clintons did from 92 to 2000. Against a voracious nasty majority right,nonetheless. You listed 2what they did. Bush undid it all and more. Barack and Hillasry with Bill as adviser are a dream come true. Surprisingly as positive as Barack is,he doesn't mention that adminiostration. It fulfilled most of his goals.;
