The Clinton plantation
by pwoxby

First, Hillary Clinton said that MLK was subordinate to LBJ. Then Bill Clinton compared Barack Obama to Jesse Jackson.

The subtext of this is pretty clear. The Clintons want to remind voters that Obama is not in his rightful place on the liberal plantation. Disgusting.

Stop eating ANTI-CLINTON cuisine.
The Clintpublican campaign
by pwoxby

Mmm... tastes so good!

Seriously, though, let's hear you spin the Clintpublican remarks. If Republicans were making these remarks Democrats would be screaming "racial demagoguery!"

Well, maybe it's best that Obama has to deal with this trash talk from the Clintpublicans because he'll get it again in huge doses from the Republicans.

Grow up. Hillary's point is and was understood by those who choose to think. MLK could have marched peacefully all he wanted to, but unless you have a President willing to sign the law/act- the struggle would have continued without federal intervention. You need a sympathetic ear in the White House to get what you want on any issue. You are disgusting.

The tone was set by the Kennedy's. Take it from someone who remmebers, and I'm suprised Hillary didn't. JFK started the civil rights act, he was assassinated before he could finish it and some think that the "conspiracy" was covered up because if it hadn't been the streets of the U S would have run red with blood. And the marches probably got JFK elected, or doesn't anyone remember Little Rock.
Re: The Clinton plantation

Of course Hillary's point is historically valid. But it is StopTheMadness who hasn't thought things through. Hillary was too clever by half. She thought she could make a valid historical point with an ugly subtext and get away with it. But her remark was made in the context of a close race with Barack Obama. So are you naive enough to think that Hillary was just making an innocent historical point with no context whatsoever?
Re: The Clinton plantation

pwoxby, get over yourself. If we keeping hammering on the obvious and let the real issues get covered in this crap, you are naive. This is the whole plot. Keep em talking about 'NOTHING". They win- You are!
Re: The Clinton plantation
by pwoxby
Well, you have your real issues and I have mine. I and millions of others have a real issue with the character of the Clintons. If Hillary Clinton is nominated I will hold my nose and support her. But only because there is no credible Republican candidate.

Hillary at least is a 100% pure Democratic runner, we know what to expect. Obama...has not matched up to his Democratic title.

To many Republican liberal votes, and Republican policy handling.

This man is nothing more than a Republican mole. He is their back up plan, a win-win for the Republican party. He will carry out their plans, and be their tool. Don't expect change, he will only garentee their agenda in Iraq.

With a 70.2% liberal scoring, what do you expect this man to do in office??

Your post nicely illustrates the problem. First, who gets to decide what the "liberal" position is on every issue? But let's put that aside and play by your rules. What you are saying is that any candidate with less than a 100% liberal score is a Republican mole. Or, more to the point, any candidate who hasn't pandered to every interest group in the liberal coalition is a Republican mole.

Well, OK, that's the very basis of the old kind of politics. Obama is offering a new kind politics. And if Ted Kennedy is sure that Obama isn't a Republican mole, that's good enough for me.

Re: The Clinton plantation

"Obama is offering a new kind politics."

Are you drinking mushroom tea?

New? What has he offered that is New?

His policies are Republican back of the fridge ideals! He is not 100% working for the people of America. He is working for the very people we want out of the office!

Using Ted Kennedy's statement makes your political understanding of him fundamentally incorrect, and to try to change your "Ted" like mind would be a waste of my time. Ted Kennedy is a racist, a murderer, and a fat fool!!

Obama is being backed by the Republican party, for what reason, because he has united the sides? Get real.

He is an investment, a tool they hope wins the election, so their agenda will continue on. He has nothing new to offer us, he has no leadership skills, and while senator of my state, he has done nothing, but side with the republican policies set before him. Are you blind to his voting record!!!

That 70.2%, was 10.8% higher than Hillary's, and his voting record went against the ideals of the democratic agenda!

How can you allow yourself to be fooled. How can you sit there, and think..."Geee...he is uniting both sides of the field, I should vote for him"...no...he is being backed by the opposing side, simply because he is running under a banner that clearly say's..."Hello, I'm a Democrat, but I really am a Republican mole."

Please don't be swayed by these people who have ruined our country. Don't be a fool!!! Read about his voting record.

Look into his title while Senator. He was labeled "Illinois Republican Democrat" why...I leave that mind numbing conclusion to you!!

Re: The Clinton plantation
by pwoxby
So you say that Ted Kennedy endorsed Barack Obama because Kennedy is racist. Okaaay... there may be some semblance of logic in there somewhere but it eludes me at the moment. Let's move on. Does John Kerry's endorsement of Obama mean that all of the Swiftboater's accusations about Kerry are true?
Re: The Clinton plantation
by bsharporflat

This thread is spin city. One spins clockwise the other counter-clockwise. I'm dizzy. Just say "I like Obama" and "I like Clinton" and be done with it ;- ).

Re: The Clinton plantation
by Sharpchefjeff

Ted is Ted...He will support anyone for the right pocket change! Add in his ability to master the dark halls of back alley politics, and you have the best dirty politician that ever walked this earth! He comes from an era in history that will benefit from his leaving of this planet!!

This is the same man who backed the founder of the KKK, and still you question his motives?

John Kerry has no weight in this discussion, he's as out dated, and politically corrupt as his endorsement. He is another one, you can buy his backing like strawberry twists in a convenient store!!

I noticed, you disagree about the endorsements, but not about Obama being a mole...

Re: The Clinton plantation
by pwoxby

So you're saying that every Democrat who endorses Barack Obama is corrupt and the Clintons, presumably, are as pure as the wind driven snow. Not exactly a nuanced position.

Anyway, if you know Obama is a Republican mole, immediately bring this to the attention of the Clinton campaign. I eagerly await Hillary's use of your information in the next debate.
