Why we shouldn't take this garbage to heart
by grizay82
If it's not too leftist for you, read Matt Taibbi's piece in the Jan. 24 issue of Rolling Stone on how and why the media sucks when it comes to "reporting" what we need to know about the campaigns. It paints a picture of what I've always felt is reality in politicians, if there is such a thing. Namely it's all spun garbage based on what some pundit or campaign aid got them to buy hook, line and sinker over martini's at Cafe Milano. The problem with the press is they're just as much stakeholders in the Beltway game as the politicians. There's no such thing as objectivity anymore, which is what the public really needs in order to make informed decisions on who to elect (that and actually reading and thinking for itself). Instead we get George Bush.
