Running against THEM
by cousinavi

When has any cnadidate ever had to deal with not only the opponent, but the ex-president spouse of the opponent.

Hillary is incapable of winning this election on HER merits. Bill "I will have no role in the white house when my wife is president" has turned a race between candidates on their respective merits into....something else. Something never before seen in American electoral politics.

Whatever it is, it is not what it ought to be.

Every candidate runs against the other candidate's spouse, too. Every spouse brings different qualities to the campaign. Elizabeth Edwards has her cancer story. Jackie Kennedy had glamour. Barbara Bush had a grandmotherly appeal. They each brought everything to the table they could to help their spouse win. It's just that Bill can bring so much more than the others did. Should he not do his best to help his spouse win, when all the other candidates' spouses are trying their hardest?

You aren't really trying to analogize Bill Clinton to Elizabeth Edwards, are you? Hillary is a brilliant and talented woman, but anyone who believes she would be taken seriously as a candidate without her husband has their hand completely in the sand.

At this point, Edwards is running for VP.

Senator Obama is the integrity candidate, up against Team Clinton, the folks you will say anything or destroy anyone to get what they want. They want four more years of hateful partisan politics and crooked back room deals. And oh yes, all the interns Bill can "not have sex" with.

I'm voting for the good guy. You should to.
