Ugh...

The whole snack thing in U.S. theatres is utterly disgusting and discourages me from going. The last thing I want to hear when I go to a movie is the 'schrunch' 'schrunch' 'schrunch' 'slurp' of some tubby arsed kid gorging on a two gallon tub of popcorn and a gallon of soda. The stale smell of the theatres and the 'feel' that builds up of the junk food on the seats is scary. No wonder they keep the lights down.

The best movie experiences I have ever had, were in Denmark. They offered snacks but they had to be consumed only in the lobby before or after the movie (or intermission if there was one). Inside the theater itself, nada.

Well, it seems to me that the problem really is your taste in movies that appeal to children. If you elevated your taste in film--stuff that attracts an adult audience--you may be surprised to find how much you enjoy it. However, I suspect your hostilty renders you incapable of experiencing joy. I feel very sorry for you.

Oh the adults are far worse than the kids when there are any.

Movies are not dining experiences.

There is this invention called the DVD. If you find it so distasteful to be in a theatre, why don't you go do a wikipedia search on "BluRay", and learn more about this exciting new technology.

Sorry Mahkno, but I live in Denmark and the concession stands in Danish movie theaters are now identical to those in the US and eating is welcome in the theater itself. Popcorn, beer, hotdogs and candy are munched and slurped by Danes with as much enthusiasm as Americans.
