Good posts

The article was lacking some in information, and the humour was a bit late-puberty, too.

The posts, however, are informative, to the point, and it seems everyone are happy with the results. As I have thought about getting this done myself, it is an encouraging read. So, keep it up! (pun intended).

Downside.

It is not generally reversible despite what those signs say on the interstate. Sometimes yes, but don't count on it. Your money shot will be diminished, sometimes to small change. Forget about being a porn star.

@ Tonto. Huh? Excuse me? I think that's a myth. I have experienced absolutely no visible difference in the quantity or quality of my semen. I suppose there might be some men who attach a significant erotic weight to their literal virility and might therefor experience some difficulty. Of course, then there are other guys who get off on fishnet stockings. Sex is just friction, everything else is in your head.

It varies, but most reports indicate some reduction in volume.

As a woman, I've never thought...gee, that's not much volume. I really wish there were more.

My point: Volume not something to worry about.

JDAN:

I have experienced NO downside at all. Small discomfort at first (lasting days, perhaps). Rude awakening when I learned that I'd have to abstain, or use other forms of birth control for the first couple of months (to make sure it took and that any swimmers were expelled w/o a chance to follow their natural instincts). Key question is whether YOU are ready to father no more children. If the answer is "yes", then I say go for it.

One word on reversibility: my urologist had me confirm that I understood that the vasectomy was "voluntary, permanent sterilization." If I had not confirmed that I understood it to be permanent, he would not have done the procedure. That is, DON'T go in thinking that it is reversible.
