Oh, the Letters You Write comments
by jesy929

I was disgusted to see such nasty comments and such low class wording to boot. To disagree is one thing, to call names is seriously lower than i would have thought anyone would stoop!

To have to deal with all of that, while still trying to work and remain up beat and giving advice would be difficult to say the least.

Prudie.... i don't always agree with you, but i know there are far more than just my views in this world and that you are as right as anyone else! NO matter what they claim!

people come here to give their opinion about the letters and how prudie is wrong.

if you've read here for very long, you should know that.

Well, I don't like the idea of being SO nasty, either. But then, I don't know....perhaps it is the nasty ones that draw in the readers, and that's good for business.

But there has to be a fine balance, I suppose. Just like how Jerry Springer was popular at first, but then after a while, all that stuff just became same ol' same ol'.

I really enjoy reading Dear Prudence!!!

I don't always agree with everyone's advice, but usually there's not only one answer to a problem..Unless you think your's is the only answer. Some people are so ignorant. When someone gives you ideas to help solve a problem there might only be a few things you use to help set you in the right direction. Anything to get you out of a sticky situation!

Have you been on the internet long? A couple days?

Trolls (people who post nasty comments that do nothing to contribute to the topic - purely to be mean or get attention) are abundant on the internet. Anyone who writes/blogs/podcasts publicly on the internet generally accepts that there are plenty of people who become very loud, vocal, and "brave" behind the anonymous nature of the internet. It's not an attractive part of the internet (been there before there was a world-wide-web (i.e. gophers and newsgroups), to be sure, but it's there and it isn't going away.

That being said, it makes perfect sense to try to patch up the relationship and bring closeness and connection back. One, it has its own reward. Two, it might just be the motivation to resolve the superficial issue of chores and a clean house. Ultimatums and such should be the last resort - after everything else has already failed. To be heavy-handed here might result in a clean house, but could ruin the mother/daughter relationship that's the true issue.
