Things will get hotter with Billary

John says:"We'll see if 48 hours is enough time for tempers to cool."

With Bill Clinton in the mix there is no way in the world tempers are going to cool. They can only get hotter. He is an extremely divisive not to mention corrosive element in this race, and clearly he is a proponent of "slash and burn politics" which is basically how he got to be president in the first place.

There is a further question about the propriety of an ex-president to be making the kind of personal attack-dog speeches about Obama, and behaving like a pit bull out of control in public (the fracas with the reporter, barging into the caucus room, etc.)

It is funny how the Clinton crowd are gloating over their two wins in NH and NV, but it is amazing that it took the all-out efforts of both Clintons to eke out victories over a newcomer, Obama, in two states, and in NV Obama may even win more delegates. What this says is the Billary (for that is really the appropriate monicker for them) have weaknesses that may become more evident as the campaign goes along, and Bill may be the corrosive agent that brings down the Clintons.

It couldn't happen too soon. After 8 years of Bill and 12 of Bush I/II, the country needs to move on.

well said I couldn't agree more. For the democratic party to survive it needs to move past the Clintons. Obama represents the best possibility to do that.

Its also interesting as you mentioned that the Clinton camp is so elated with the state of things. Going into South Carolina they still trail in delegates and were they not predicting something of a landslide? I think its going to be anything but a landslide in either direction.

We definitely need change, but drastic change based on idealism or inspiration is the wrong recipe. Perhaps, some personal negatives are forgiveable in the interests of setting the country on the right track after eight years of worst presidency.

I'd agree on a couple of your points. These past years have been rough for our country and even worse for those we occupy. Nothing can replace those lost in such a meaningless war. I sometimes wonder if it could have been different. With George Bush unfortunately I don't think anything will be different. Some personal negatives are forgivable but one is not. To vote for this war and then continue to vote to fund it is a betrayal. To not admit you were wrong or even sorry is even more unforgivable. All of us who marched in cities or in towns owe it to one another to elect someone who didn't vote for the war. We knew it was wrong, we knew the havoc it would cause. We'd had seen it before and heard the same tired lines from our leaders.

Hillary Clinton sided with George Bush. She continues to do so. Is this the candidate that is supposed to represent "progressives"? I certainly hope no one believes that. Unfortunately the democratic party has strayed. Being truly progressive is not politically expedient for ones career. And a career Hillary does have. She has more then that she has a brand. Only Obama did not vote for the war. He has continued to keep funding it though. So what is one left to do? Obama can be a bridge to a new generation of politics. It is a long shot and maybe I am a bit idealistic and naive to think so. I guess I want to believe things would actually get better or that things might change.

There is plenty of time left in this election cycle. I don't know who will get the nomination but I do know I can't vote for anyone that thinks war will guide us in this new century.

I am afraid Billary might end up making the democratic field experiencing the equivalent of a Gallstone in the Biliary duct => increase bile leading to nausea and vomitting. This is a medical fact.

Polical translation: dems can end up nauseated with Bill Shenanigans and stay home in November. I think when a high ranking staffer of Billary is fired over inappropriate comments/suggestion about drug selling, when a low level staffer is also fired for circulating an e-mail filled with falsehood about Obama being a muslim...when they circulate rumors that Obama went to a "madrassa" which investigative reporters found to be false, we are getting closer and closer to get another definition of what the word "is" is!
