The Confederate Flag comes out in S.C to attack Repubs.
by LaurieAnnM

<link>

Your usual suspects..the far right republican KKK loving racists in South Carolina are out in force again today.

Touting signs covered in the Confederate flag and yelling,

"McCain is a Democrat! "Boot McCain out of Dixie!"

It was so bad Southern congressman Lindsey Grahm (a McCain supporter) advised Veterans to 'watch John's back', while in So Carolina'.

These Dixie Dangerous deluded types also are carrying signs against Rudy Guiliani and Thompson and attacking them, too!

That leads me to realize that the candidate the racists are clearly MOST comfortable with is ..who else?.........

Mitt !!!

Yep!

It is the Sears Store, male, mannequin ,look-alike,Mitt Romney that the KKK Confederate Flag waving SC types feel comfortable with.

What does that say about Mitt?

Re: Or Huckabee?

I don't know why they would feel comfortable with Romney but maybe so. The attraction of Huckabee is more obvious.
Did you forget that Dean actually

COURTED those racists?

Wanted their votes.

Very sad.

Re: Did you forget that Dean actually

Sad that he was trying to steal Republican votes?
Republicans don't want them.
by berzerker

Notice that every time Duke runs as a Republican, the Republican Party denounces him?

Meanwhile, Al Sharpton can stand up on the Democrat Dias without a peep about his racism and anti-semitism and be SUPPORTED by the Democratic Party.

Unless you are REALLY going to try and claim Sharpton isn't a bigot?

Re: Republicans don't want them.

To be honest with you, Berzerker. I am very uncomfortable with any person black or white who associates themselves with racists in both sides of the aisle.

People like Louis Farakhan, a known anti semite. That sort of racism bothers me as much as the KKK racism. That does bother me greatly.

I do hope, not sure, but I think Sharpton has denounced Farakhan's message against jews.

I sure hope so anyway.

Sharpton is very smarmy in many ways, I agree, but he also he very loyal to the democratic agenda and he isn't a dummy. He has a very fast mind and is very fast witted whenever he engaes in any debate.

But, I do also remember the hyped up cases of screaming racism in his past when the situation was totally fabricated.

I thought the way he handled Imus on his radio show(making Imus answer to Sharpton's daughter re: the 'nappy head ho' remark on his radio show was tawdry and very low brow, indeed.

There is much about Sharpton that annoys me that way.

The difference is someone like Farakhan is really a bad human being.

Sharpton is just basically a blow heard tooting his own horn, most times.

I heard the other day that Obama's Preacher once praised Farakhan. Now that disturbed me. But, as someone pointed out we don't hold catholics responsible for everything the Pope or various Priests might say.. nor jews for everything their Rabbis say, nor Christians for every crazy bible thumping anti gay preaching Evangelical either, or do we?

I don't know. I guess all of these things are issues we will soon be grappling with again as the elction starts to pare down.

Just wanted you to know. I do see the argument on either side.

: )

I don't know what goes on in the mind of that sort of southern mentality that flies that symbol of treason..The Confederate Flag...in the year 2007. I just know they always seem to be screaming and angry as hell when they fly it and that makes me feel concerned with their motive.

It doesn't appear to be about anything good.

Huckabee seems to be a peaceful person..so maybe that doesn't appeal to them even though they are possibly Evangelicals like he is.

I don't know. maybe Romney represents a more arch conservative message they feel is in line with their views.

I really don't get the white southern rage and the Confederate Flag wavers at all.

never have.

Just know their anger worries me.

Believe it ot not...even though Huckabee is a republican and so the basic platform and GOP agenda is counter to my own, as a human being,

I could live with Huckabee as president.

He seems very genuine and honest. None of the other GOP candidates strike me as honest, or stable or good at all.

Huckabee and the Constitution
by gadzooks

"I have opponents in this race who do not want to change the Constitution," Huckabee told a Michigan audience on Monday. "But I believe it's a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living god. And that's what we need to do -- to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards"

Re: Huckabee and the Constitution
by LaurieAnnM

Yeah..I know. But, in fairness, even Thomas Jefferson had the foresight to realize the Constitution would have to be a "living document..i.e..subject to some alterations/adaptions, as times evolve and change.

But,there is much that I disapprove of with any GOP candidate.

I am just saying I could stand Huckabee easier than say, McCain who I consider as a somewhat befuddled and dangerous old man and a die hard ex Nixonite.

I can't tolerate the thought of him as President.

Nor can I stomach the weasley flip flopping wealthy imperialistic Mitt Romney.

Guiliani is almost but not quite tolerable. Tolerable in that he is clearly a social liberal but not quite tolerable in that he is so tough on crime(which I generally am for) but his tough on street crime stance is just a hairsbreath shy of naziestque.

On the converse he isn't really tough at all when it comes to immigration policy and being tough on those crimes. So that one is a wash for me. Because we need some basic common sense positions when it comes to immigration.

Ron Paul? well, he's not even a contender...except for the fringe.

ACTUALLY MOST OF US ARE VOTING

Yeah, I can see Hucxkabee winning S.C.

The Flag issue is a pander on hius part..but I am sure you know that already.

I just lost a good deal of the small respect I had for him for that, though.

The Confederate Flag has no place except as a symbol of the insubordinate stubborn treasonous slave loving, perverse human bondage exploiters of the greedy Plantation Owners of the Antebellum Dead South.

Any who are proud of that sick heritage ought to see a real minister not an enabler of your perverse old dead dreams of when 'Cotton was King' on the backs of those in chains.

DID YOU KNOW? As you walk up the steps to the building which houses the U.S Supreme Court you can see near the top of the building a row of the world's law givers and each one is facing one in the middle who is facing forward with a full frontal view .. it is Moses and he is holding the Ten Commandments!

DID YOU KNOW? There are Bible verses etched in stone all over the Federal Buildings and Monuments in Washington , D.C.

DID YOU KNOW? James Madison, the fourth president, known as "The Father of Our Constitution" made the following statement:

DID YOU KNOW? "We have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God."

DID YOU KNOW? Patrick Henry, that patriot and Founding Father of our country said: "It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians, not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ".

DID YOU KNOW? Fifty-two of the 55 founders of the Constitution were members of the established orthodox churches in the colonies.

DID YOU KNOW? The very first Supreme Court Justice, John Jay, said: "Americans should select and prefer Christians as their rulers."

You need to read up a little more
by berzerker

on Sharpton. Especially about his role in Freddy's Food Mart.

People died, and he instigated it.

As he did in a few other instances against Jews in NYC.

Not to mention his bigotted statements against whites merely because they were white in the Twana Brawley case.

But the differance I see is that the National Republican Party will denounce completely David Duke...but the Democrats refuse to denounce Sharpton.

sharpton:

Sharpton's most controversial appearances in the news came in 1987 when he, C. Vernon Mason, and Alton Maddox acted as advisor for Tawana Brawley. Brawley was a black teenager from Wappingers Falls, New York who claimed that she was raped and sodomized for several days by six white police officers before being covered in excrement and placed in a trash bag. These claims were later challenged. Following the incident, although Brawley refused to speak to the media or authorities, Sharpton and other advisors decided to speak up for her. Sharpton said that to cooperate with the state Attorney General Robert Abrams, a Jew, would be "to sit down with Mr. Hitler". All three implied that Mario Cuomo was tied to organized crime. Sharpton has never recanted any of the allegations he made surrounding the incident and maintains that he has always believed Brawley.

In 1998 Sharpton was ordered to pay Steven Pagones $65,000 in damages for slander for explicitly implicating the prosecutor in the rape of Tawana Brawley. Before the trial, Sharpton had said, "We stated openly that Steven Pagones ... did it ... if we're lying, sue us"[1]. Sharpton refused to pay. In January 2001 after Pagones had collected only $15,000 from Sharpton's garnished salary, a group of wealthy African Americans stepped in to pay.

In 1991, a Hasidic Ultra-Orthodox Jew, Yoseph Lisef, ran a red traffic light and hit a young black child, Gavin Cato, in Brooklyn's Crown Heights. A private ambulance from a Jewish association evacuated the lightly-injured driver on the orders of the police officer at the scene, who feared that Lisef would be attacked by the angry bystanders. Only later did a city ambulance arrive to treat Cato. In the violence that followed on that night, Yankel Rosenbaum, a Jewish rabbinical student, was stabbed to death.

At Cato's funeral, Sharpton spoke out against "diamond merchants", which is the occupation of many of the Hasidic Jews in Crown Heights. Sharpton mobilized hundreds of demonstrators to march through Crown Heights, chanting, "No justice, no peace." Sharpton flew to Israel to personally serve papers to Lisef for a civil suit.

On January 12, 1991 Sharpton was stabbed while organizing a demonstration in Bensonhurst. At the hospital when Sharpton learned the doctors intended to cut off his leather jacket Sharpton, "made them stop and hauled myself off the gurney and took my coat off". The event was turning point for Sharpton who saw first hand the violence that "loose language" could incite. Years later Sharpton met with his attacker and reflected "what poison am I putting in my environment ... where a kid feels he'll be a hero if he kills somebody".[2]

In 1995 Freddy's Fashion Mart, a Jewish owned store, was picketed by Sharpton's National Action Network when it raised the rent on a black subtenant. Sharpton proclaimed that "We will not stand by, and allow them to move this brother so that some white interloper can expand his business." On December 8, one of the protesters entered Freddy's, shot four employees, and set the store on fire, killing seven. Sharpton denied his involvement had anything to do with the incident.

And did you see what Huckabee thinks
by berzerker

about the KKK?

That's right, Huckabee's longtime personal friend and supporter Jay Cole thinks the LDS church is on par with the KKK.
