romney outspent huckabee 50 to 1
by The_Rodfather
huckabee still garnered 16% of the vote. romney is in trouble when he goes into the southern bible belt. romney being a mormon will get shunned by the god fearing baptists of the south. i am atheist, ill just sit back and watch the carnage. so fun to watch "christians" masacre themselves.
And on the subject of hypocrisy...

Translation: I think it's funny when bad things happen to people who don't believe exactly the same things I do.

Beautiful.

I don't think it makes you a bigot if you enjoy watching the GOP harm their chances of winning the wh because all of their hopefuls are too busy fighting over who loves Jesus the most to actually address real problems facing the nation.

If Mike Huckabee had made racial comments about a leading black candidate or sexist comments about a leading female candidate, he would have been castigated by the media. How he was able to launch his surge with religious bigotry is dumbfounding to me. It seems that everyone is oblivious to the obvious.

I want to know if it is possible for Mike Huckabee to form any two sentences without verbally man-bitch backhand slapping his arch-enemy Mitt Romney. Is anyone else just plain sick of hearing him whine about his empty pockets while he panders to the downtrodden and adds to the victimization complex of a certain demographic. A ray of hope and empowerment is what would encourage the suffering of the middle class, not commiseration. Mitt Romney is putting his own money where his mouth is and what the hell is wrong with that. He is successful and knows how to help others to be successful. His money should speak positively of him and not negatively as Huckabee keeps trying to do. What determines your level of personal commitment to serve Huck?

funuvit asks an excellent question!

"Mitt Romney is putting his own money where his mouth is and what the hell is wrong with that."

There's nothing wrong with it in a moral sense, but the problem with Romney's spending is that he's paying many times what his rivals are paying to campaign and his performance doesn't have a lot to show for it. Michigan was a big win for him, obviously, but in every state so far he's spending several times what all the other GOP candidates COMBINED are spending. From an economic standpoint, it's David and Goliath where he's Goliath and not doing demonstrably well in spite of the funding advantage.

Can he keep outspending everybody else several times over to win the nomination or is he going to find himself going home to a much smaller personal fortune this Spring? I'm guessing the latter!

I'm tired of the "bigot" comment being batted around so quickly, virtually always by Romney supporters and especially by Mormon Romney supporters.

With respect to religion, tolerance should be granted, but respect needs to be earned. If candidates are going to keep making their faiths part of their appeal, then voters have EVERY right to evaluate the basis of that faith and make judgements. This, in itself, is NOT bigotry.

Let's see an out of the closet Atheist or Muslim or Scientologist run for the Presidency. The same Mormon supporters of Romney crying "bigot" now won't vote for him.

how am i a bigot? i merely stated that i like watching "good self-proclaimed christians" masacre each other. you know it is going to happen. the extension of my religion is to treat people the way i would like to be treated, period, end of story. after that i don't give a rat's tail if you think you have some kind of inside track to divine intervention, because i will never ever believe that you do, because in my world it doesn't exist. a study came a year or two ago that stated praying does/did not help people who were terminally ill. i find it amusing when people get lost in the wilderness and are later found. they praise god and say he was watching over them, blah, blah, blah. funny you never hear them say that he got them lost or didnt whisper to them that they were about to put themselves in peril.
