Romney was a success as a businessman and with the Salt lake Olympics. How was he successful in business though? He lowered costs by laying off employees. Romney is far from alone in this by the way. CEO salaries have skyrocketed in the recent past while wages for workers have at best stagnated. The job of a CEO is to make maximum profit for the shareholders which often means cutting jobs or sending them overseas.
Romney won in Michaigan by saying that he'd protect the worker's jobs while McCain was more honest and said that many jobs were gone and weren't coming back.
The US auto industry is doing very poorly with no improvement likely for some time to come if ever. Much of the blame goes to short sighted CEOs who focused on bloated SUVs while the Japanese, Koreans and Europeans made efficeint cars and when the price of gas rose most people no longer wanted these land yachts and Detroit had nothing else to offer.
George Bush is a "CEO president." How has that worked?
