Proud to be a Scientologist!!!
by jojobean

I know nothing about Tom's personal life and since I am busy living and enjoying my own life - I don't need to know or care about his past relationships.

However, the statements made in this book about Scientology are absolutely ridiculous!!

And to all of you who are busy slamming Scientology, welcome to a look at your own life and stop degrading other people's beliefs!!!

I've been a Scientologist for years and I am thrilled I found it. Studying and following this path has made me happier and more confident in every aspect of my life. I don't slam other people's beliefs and believe in helping people to be happy in their lives.

WHOA! Listen to this bull*&^%! Scientology is full of freakish people who are in dire need of having their heads examined, urgent need of reality checks, and should be under direct supervision at all times. This is a sampling of their cores beliefs:

When a person dies – or, in Scientology terms, when a thetan abandons its physical body – they go to a "landing station" on the planet Venus, where the thetan is re-implanted and told lies about its past life and its next life. The Venusians take the thetan, "capsule" it, and send it back to Earth to be dumped into the ocean off the coast of California. Says Hubbard, "If you can get out of that, and through that, and wander around through the cities and find some girl who looks like she is going to get married or have a baby or something like that, you're all set. And if you can find the maternity ward to a hospital or something, you're OK. And you just eventually just pick up a baby." To avoid these inconveniences, Hubbard advised Scientologists to refuse to go to Venus after their death.

You know NOBODY ever cared or even really commented on Scientology until Tom Cruise went on Oprah and started jumping up and down on her sofa and then went on an interview with Matt Lauer and made a complete and utter fool of himself.

That's when the attention was suddenly turned to Scientology! So stop whining-Tom Cruise brought this on himself and Scientology - and why do you care anyways... your so happy and confident living your own life.. this should be so beneath you, yoyobean!

I just don't see
by biteoftheweek

how that is any nuttier than believing that when you die, you will get to be a god of many planets and have hundreds of hot babe wives to have sex with for eternity so that you can poplulate those planets (mormon belief)

Or how about virgin births and people coming back to life after 3 days?

Or how about believing that the wafer and wine you just ate turned into human flesh and blood in your mouth?

It sounds as though Tom received a lot of peace and balance from his early days in Scientology--particularly given his early loss of his father and driving ambition. Perhaps it is after one is promoted up the hierarchy that the deadly effects of ego set in, you know, "I'm special, a chosen one," and all that. Drives a lot of people over.

How is it that you know such things about those other religions of the world? Oh right because they publish their theology for all to learn and study whether or not you choose to become a Morman, Christian, Muslim or a Jew. Unlike Scientology, it can only be studied to it's full extent within the church, once you join and PAY for their knoledge. It can't be studied at any university. So no one outside the church can ever have a valid discussion, it's alway a onesided. We are always gib. Will Smith made the same argument you did, but you know what at least members of the religions you mentioned would own up to those beliefs, a scientologist never does
Actually, no

Mormons do not publish it for all to see. Nor can you get them to own up to their nutso beliefs (I offer Mitt Romney as evidence)

There are a lot of secrets in many religions.

Once again, all seem to be equally nutty to me

Nevertheless, you are changing the point of the post. The original complaint was that Scientology has nutty beliefs. My reply to that is, what religion doesn't?

I completely agree that Tom brought all this attention to himself and to the Scientoloy community. I respect other people's beliefs. In my opinion, I think Tom has damaged the image of Scientology Church/Cult (whatever you call these days) by his crazy and creepy behavior, videos and interviews.

As far as the gay rumos are concerned, who cares!!! I think it is just a matter of time before the truth gets out. He can't make people keep secrets forever. I am a big believer that if you have nothing to hide, the rumors will die eventually.

I didn't think I was changing the original post. I apologize. Scientology has nutty beliefs for sure, really nutty, wacked in fact. But sicne they won't own up to them and nothing is published, our opinion that they have nutty beliefs is just that unsubstantiated opinion, we can't argue with them. theve got us in their catch 22.
