Senator Clinton's Experience
by Bolingbrook Democrat

I was waiting for SOMEONE to finally state the obvious when it comes to Senator Clinton's claim to superior experience. Namely, that in this case, the Empress has no clothes.

This issue has nothing whatsoever to do with either race or gender. Ultimately, it's about character. The Senator from the State of New York is distorting her past record to make it appear to be weightier than it really is. In my view, this constitutes fraud. If I put a pill on the market that claimed to raise your metabolism 1000% while lowering your cholesterol to the same degree, and upon examination it was found that I was peddling aspirin instead, at the very least I'd be arrested for false advertising. Yet Senator Clinton persistently claims to have 35 years of experience. 35 years of doing what? Breathing?

The fact is that we got into trouble in 2000 when we believed the sincere blather of an inexperienced candidate for President who claimed to be a compassionate conservative. We don't need to put an overly ambitious politician whose reach far exceeds her grasp into the White House, only to be flabbergasted when we discover that she's even more of a neophyte than her predecessor.

We all have padded our resumes from time to time in order to get a jobl. But the consequences for having an inadequately prepared President of the United States are much worse than for selecting an inadequately prepared telemarketer.

She didn't just bake cookies while Bill was president you idiot. She was actually co-president with him during both his exceptional administrations.

The only part of your post with which I disagree is the statement that Sen. Clintion "...is more of a neophyte than her predecessor."

President George W. Bush was the penultimate "empty suit". And arrogant along with his ignorance.

Co-President...where is that in the Constitution?

What evidence of that "co-presidency"? In fact, if the article is correct, she was not included in nor informed of foriegn or domestic policy issues on a regular basis by those actually advising Pres. Clinton or his advisors or Cabinet Secretaries.

Sorry, but the evidence is that, while she is a very capable person, and while her husband probably spoke with her about the issues of the day, Sen. Clinton was not "co-President, and has no more experience, and may actually have had less experience than some of her Democratic opposition for the nomination.

Exactly right. Since she had no security clearance there were probably many aspects of the job that Bill simply couldn't discuss with his wife even if he wanted to.

This artcile doesn't calim that Obama or Edwards are more experienced but rather that Hillary's claim that she has way more experience then her competitors is provably false.

Thank you, Tim Noah. I've been waiting for someone to shed some light on this "experience." Here's why I'm opposed to Clinton's candidacy.

1. Sorry, but being first lady doesn't count. She spent 20 of those 35 years as a first lady -- 12 in Arkansas, 8 in Washington.

2. No more Bushes, no more Clintons. We are the United States of America, not dear old England. We don't have royal families or dynasties.

3. I strongly supported Bill Clinton in his two runs for the White House, but I don't want to see him there again. It creeps me out to think of him in the White House again. Talk about "co-presidents"! Do you think he'd spend his time doing photo ops with Girl Scouts? (Oh wait, let's keep him away from Girl Scouts.)

4. She's so '90s. I want a 21st century president. Either Obama or Edwards would bring fresh ideas, fresh perspectives and a whole new staff and entourage to the WH.

Since she was co-President I would say that should take her out of the running since she has already had her two terms.
