you're stereotypecasting
by Ningun
I love that Guzman can get roles that have nothing to do with his ethnicity. His character in "John from Cinci" was awesome, and there was never any need to explain why a Latino was on the show. Why do you feel the need to explain why a Latino actor happens to be selling cheese. I mean, yeah, he's gruff looking and it's otherwise an odd thing for an actor to be doing - but that oddity has nothing to do with Guzman's ethnicity. It's crap like this that confuse Latinos and their immigrant cousins - so, do you want us to become Americans, or do you just want us to nicely fill the stereotypical pigeon holes you're digging for us.

Hear! Hear! Well put ...I am the son of an immigrant and the truth be told and much as Americans open up, they slam shut due to being short sighted and not realizing that we (those who are different) as a being evolved, changed, and progressive as any human can be. If anything I find it more natural and I am more open to someone who has strong feelings about a subject then one who is just pitching.

FYI - Cabot Cheese, Makers of the World's best Cheddar, is a Vermont company and Luis Guzma is a Vermonter. Well, adopted Vermonter - he has lived in VT for the past 16+ years. These commercials have nothing to do with ethnicity, immigrants, Latino markets, etc. it's all about the Cheddar.
