Home birthing

I file this with the same people who told me that if I didn't nurse my baby she would grow up homeless and illiterate and it would be all my fault. Must agree with the post that states 'natural' isn't always the way to go. My daughter was born by scheduled C-section because my excellent doctor suspected she would be a big baby. She was and I was pretty out of it for her birth. Do I feel like I missed anything? No. It's her life I celebrate and cherish, not her birth.

congrats!

I'm glad everything turned out so well. When my CNM measured my pelvis, she told me that if the baby got to 10 pounds, I'd have a scheduled c section. Luckily he was "only" 8 lbs 6 oz, so we got to have that home birth. Unluckily it was 33 hours of back labor. Luckily, it worked out great. Of course I was begging for painkillers at hour 32, but by then it would have been too late anyway!

Weight estimates err by as much as 30% in the third trimester.
Depends on the method

Using a sonagram, the weight estimate risk of error is closer to 6.5%.
