In the grand scheme of primary elections, Iowa and New Hampshire are just the beginning of a very long road to the Nomination and nearly meaningless compared to the delegates available in the larger states which are yet to vote.
This is already shaping up as an historic election year for the Democrats. With an unpopular President in office, it is highly likely that the next President will be a Democrat. And, for the first time, a woman and an African American are the leading candidates to win the Democratic Nomination.
But some ominous battle lines have already begun to be drawn between those two candidates, giving indications that this may become a very nasty confrontation between the two camps. Recent comments from the Clinton camp have angered many potential Black voters and raised the spector that Obama's race may play a large role in the Clinton campaign strategy. We have also seen, even here on KFS, Obama being linked to his affiliation with Islam.
Already the Obama camp has begun to fight back. And as the campaign begins to heat up, there is every posibility that the personal attack from both sides could intensify. This could turn into a very ugly campaign season.
