male chauvinism

It's the only reason I can see to explain this unhesitating nastiness I see everywhere towards Clinton. The conservative media is doing it, the liberal media is doing, even media that isn't really media is doing it. All these little jabs and snide comments that would be TOTALLY off limits if you were making the same kind of innuendo about a black man (insulting suggestions about Obama being a sure thing in NC aside) seem to be the rule of the day for a woman.

And before you rattle off yet another little pithy rejoinder, think about this...are you actually making ANY rational points about WHY you don't like her, or do you just not like her? Because all I get when I ask people why they hate her is yet more hateful bucolic. It would be very different if I got ONE rational reason for this dislike.

And all you little boys in the media need to check your convictions. It's one thing to shout for equal rights while the Powers That Be are all old white guys. It's quite another to do the same when a woman has a chance for real power.

Which seems to scare the hell out of all of you.

Go back to the physics. :-)

Amen sister.

Even though I am actually leaning towards Obama these days I still feel like I need to confront people who critisize Clinton based on nothing but the Feudian resentment they have towards their mothers. She's a good candidate. They both are. We are lucky to have them after the last 7 years of bull***** Can we please stick to taking about policy and keep the sexist banter out of it?

just cant stand the idea that people dislike bills wife based on her character....or lack thereof..why dont you defend bush? i mean, the same people trash him all the time and you have no problem with it..{not that he doesnt deserve it, but thats not the point} would mrs. clinton whine about this?

Her Iraq war votes... Just saying.

Could it be because...

She is no better than Bush??? She is a power hungry, conniving, cold, divisive woman. That's why an unexperienced junior Senator from Illinios is beating her. This has nothing to do with chauvanism.

While I don't agree with the manner in which Matthews made his statement, it is nonetheless, somewhat true. You actually make mt point for me by stating that even liberals were lining up against her. You need to get past the man/woman hysteria and realize that she is not the proper person to run this country at this time.

So is it very different now?

Somebody said they needed a reason why HRC wouldn't be a good leader.

FLIP FLOPPER comes to my mind.

It would be very different if I got ONE rational reason for this dislike.

1. Her refusal to admit that her vote on Iraq was wrong.

2. Her huge turnaround on health care now that she has accepted so much money from the insurance industry.

It's that first one that's the real clincher for me. Edwards admits his vote was a mistake and Obama was arguing against it at the time. That Clinton will not tells me she doesn't recognize the Iraq war for the completely unnecessary debacle that it is.

Since I like Edwards' health plan, he'll get my vote if he's still in the race for Maryland's primary. If not, I'll vote for Obama, but when it comes to the general election, I will not vote for Clinton or any Republican who maintains that the Iraq war was the right thing to do.

Physics Queen, since I've answered your question, I'd like to ask one in return:

What is it about Hillary Clinton that you like, i.e. what sets her apart from Barack Obama and John Edwards for you?

If the answer is "experience," as that seems to be the discriminator that she's running on, did you support Biden and Dodd before they dropped out of the race? They were, afterall, the two Democratic candidates with, by far, the most experience.

Ice Queen. By now you have been given many good reasons why people dislike Hillary Clinton besides her gender. I have one question for you. Would you still defend her if she were a man, or is it simply her gender that has your support?

As a woman, I don't have any problem with another woman holding the office of President of the United States. I do have a problem with this woman holding that or any other office. She is a liar, an opportunist, a thief, and in my opinion and many others a murderer. The Clintons took out anyone who dared to stand in their way on their first trip to the white house, and if Obama wins, and he picks Hillaru as his running mate, I'd never ever close my eyes with her in the room.

Hillary's ratings in public opinions polls are very low, too. She gets much lower scores for such traits as "honesty" and being "caring" relative to the other candidates. I'm not sure if you can blame the "liberal" or "conservative media, male chauvanism, or Freudian resentment for the general public's gut feelings towards her.
Hilary has only one person to blame...
by evensteven

Hilary!!!

Caught in some many lies, from Kosovo, trvrlgate, Vince Foster, etc.

Due I even go down the road conniving political ambitions? Ok, maybe just this example:

She should have dumped Bill's ass the second she found out the real situation with Monica, but, no, she stayed with him only because of her political future. I think her ambitions would have been better served if she had. Especially with women voters. I as a man certainly would have had a lot more respect for her.

Evensteven--- I, too, dislike Hillary as a candidate for a number of reasons. But unlike many others, I actually admire her for keeping her family together and considering the implications for Chelsea. I can't relate to the so-called feminists who blast her for not dumping Bill. Are you convinced that she stayed with Bill only for her political ambitions? She may not have been a happier woman as a divorcee.
