Personally, i think the woman has half lost her mind lately. Spewing things like the Head Master being gay and so on. All the wealth has gone to her head and this last bit just proves it. She, most likely, sits around with far too much time on her hands now a days.

I agree there is no legal standing for this woman when it comes to the Lexicon guide book. I never buy them, from the author or from other groups as i carefully read whatever book interests me and don't ever feel the need for a guide book. But, anyone should be able to write one, legally.

Rowlings is fast losing the love of her fans, but she made her multi millions and doesn't care any longer. She can sit happily in her Scottish castle from now till eternity not blowing through all the money she's made off of fans like you and me.

My biggest hope is that Lexicon asks for their lawyers bills and court fees to be paid by her once she loses! It's unfair that those with money can continue a fight for so long that it wipes the littler (is that even a word??) guys out!

She is fighting for the right to publish the 1st Harry Potter fan Dictionary. If you actually knew anything about this you would know that. She has sole right to be the 1st one to publish something like this because Harry is HER creation and only hers. She is totally for anyone else doing it-just like all the other people who have made a buck off her-she just wants to do it first.

THAT is only right.

Besides, how would YOU like to create something just have everyone trying to cash in on it. You would be fighting like mad. You are awful people. If it was turned around, you wouldn't think YOU were greedy with money, YOU would think it should be yours because YOU created it! Look at all the money greedy people who have already written stuff by ripping off Harry Potter and making a buck. That is just wrong. She created it and it should ALL be hers. She has let so many people rip her off. She is an extremely generous person as far as that goes. And is anyone calling her greedy when she gives so much to her charities??? Oh wait, we hardly see THAT on these sites! SHAME ON YOU!!

She has no right to publish the first. She has the right to publish one, but nothing says she must do it first.

It's not her right, so it's not only right that she does it.

Rowling is nothing but a money hungry, crazy, borderline psychotic witch with all her comments and attempted law suits as of late.

Not to mention as an aside…

If it were not for her fans interest in her work, and their ability to discuss, debate and further publicize their interest on the Internet, Harry Potter may have sizzled and died just as so many other similar fantasy works have.

Some of which were far more enjoyable and engrossing then the HP novels, many of which still exist as classic works decades after their initial release.

She should be grateful to her fans for such devotion, and if she wants to be first? Why did she sit on her duff so long? Her own lexicon guide should have been started with the very first written novel, not till after the fans produce one.

Look here J.K. is the creator of harry potter's world. she has got every right to be possesive and all that. We all loved harry potter. Now just because she wants something of her choice doesn't mean fans are gonna hate her, at least not me. I love and respect her. She is possesive of harry potter because its been her companion when she was going through hard time in her life and we should resppect it please.

I think u r wrong in saying that rowling just cares for money. You said she made money off fans, well come on she didn't force us to like it. It was our own liking that is why we should respect her wish. She should be the first one to publish any dictionary or encyclopedia. Rowling should have every right reserved for any book to be published regarding harry potter.

Here is a senerio, some poor guy found an oil field wich he worked hard to developed and through his labor became rich. He's now rich and someone comes in stealing oil from his field without concent and selling it for a huge profit. Is this fair? no its theft.

Lets change the senerio a bit. A poor woman painstakingly writes a fantasy series. This book series becomes a hit and she makes it rich. Now someone comes along takes these definitions (directly) from the book she created and desides to sell it for a profit without even asking consent. Is this anymore fair than the first one? no it still sounds like stealing.

So, your saying she has no right over the works she created. Anyone can just take her ideas and sell them for personal gain without even asking her. If this is the case why do we have copyrights anyway. Its copyright infringement and plagerism. This issue should have nothing to do with Ms. Rowlings money or mental state. She came up with Harry Potter, thus its hers not a lexicon sites, they had nothing to do with creating Harry Potter.
